Maybe I missed it but how are you liking the Terramax RT's? How are they in rain/slick weather? How's the noise level compared to other tires you've run?
Oh I am in love with them!!

They hold up great at highway speeds, when I went off-roading last weekend they held up beautifully as well!

I ran them at 11 PSI last weekend on my icon rebound Pro interlock wheels. Zero issues!

I don't know how many thousand Miles they're going to last, but they've been wearing evenly so far, for the last 2,000 mi I've been driving them!

It's funny, even now, when I drive slowly on the roads, 35 mph and below, you can hear them sticking to the road as I drive. And when I go to any drive-thrus, Starbucks, chick-fil-a, whatever, you can hear them getting all sticky and making a ton of noise at 1 to 2 miles an hour on the drive-thru surface.

I am loving them at this point. I don't see any reason I won't keep running these into the future! Plus the cost is pretty nice!

I got some more fiddling to do with the headlights so the bumper is going to stay off until I finish up with those.

Is it doable, yes! It actually saved me about $700 from what I was quoted. Is it fun? Honestly yeah, I enjoy this sort of stuff!

Sometime before the end of the month I'm going to flush the AC system, and then I'll take it to get it refilled and we should be good. First time I'll have AC and a year and a half! :handsinair:

NOTE TO SELF: Defender tail lights where I want to install the carriage/torch lights, or a really intricate off-roading light setup, same style as Defender lights.

CRAP!!!

More parts I need to buy! :asshat:

just wrapped up installing the Synergy one (in combination with upgrading to the steel box) - got the brace used for $150 and gave it a good cleaning only. Looking forward to being able to test it soon!

also, playing around with/handling these parts really makes me wonder how the aluminum box made it to production. To my admittedly shadetree-mechanic eyes, the steering doesn’t feel stout enough for the variety of used a JL/JLU sees. Whether cheaper, lighter, or both, the compromise in this design was a mistake…

Yeah that was one of the first things I checked when I got home yesterday, took a magnet Rod I have, and stuck it down in there and was happy to find that I have a steel steering box. Looks like it was introduced on the 2021 models, of which mine is. 🙏🙏🙏

Thank God for that, I really didn't want to do a steering box swap! 😓😎

I got some weird groaning coming from my Jeep when I turn the wheel. There's a bit of sticking just inside of full lock on both left and right turns, but really is only noticeable when I'm at a standstill or really low speeds. I do plan on getting a adjustable tie rod and track bar sometime later this year, just adding this to the list now as well.

It's funny if I smash the skinny pedal when I'm doing a sharp corner even in a parking lot, everything becomes much more responsive. Funny how that works! 😣

I knew going up in tire size 37s with a 2-in lift was going to be a bunch of extra work, but I just hate how everything in this realm is so expensive. Definitely not a place I'm going to be cheaping out in. So it's just all going to get pushed off for quite a while.

Yep. The black [ferrous] steering gear box was new for the 2021 model year. My 2021 JLU, which was actually manufactured in October 2020, also has it.

A/C is working again... Turns out that condenser I spent 7 hrs installing had a crack on it so instead of $500 to vac and refill it cost me $1200 for another new condenser professionally installed, plus a vac and refill...

On the plus side, it blows cold now, so there is that. You know what they say, beggars can't be choosers! It's only money!

Can you return the defective condenser for a refund?

Sadly no, I bought it 2 years ago. I mean it's on me for waiting so long to install it, but yeah definitely not going to be able to return that guy.

The plus side it only cost me $82 way back then 😓

Most the vehicle maintenance is done after today. Got the Subaru will change done, I got the fuel filter on the EcoDiesel replaced. Did a bit of maintenance on some of the bolts and such. While I was at it I figured I'd give everything that's on the bottom a nice coating of paint.. got those recessed washers painted black and my fuel filter skid plate painted SEXY!!!

I figured if I'm going to repaint it I would use a paint color that I need to get rid of. That one might be one of my oldest paint cans left. Metallic purple!
