Going to be in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area later this summer and debating whether to take my Jeep or let the wife drive her Lexus. I know that Wind Rock is "nearby" but TBH it's not likely I'm going to get to make the ~2hr detour to add it in. Are there any other good trails/forest roads to explore?

I usually stay on the Cherokee, NC side of the park and there are countless forest service roads to explore nearby. I'm not as familiar with the Gatlinburg/PF side for trails and forest roads.
Thanks for the tips! Just got back this weekend - we ended up taking my wife's car, but did drive over to Cherokee to float the river and such - cool area, for sure. Already planning a trip back in the Jeep.
