Hey all! Basically, as the title states, does anyone have any good recommendations for a small trailer that's just big enough for a 2-door? My wife and I are talking about taking some longer road trips in the future, and we thought towing her 2-door with my truck might be better than trying to cram ourselves and all our crap into her little blueberry. However, we live in a cookie-cutter HOA community, so we don't have much more than a single garage space to store a trailer, so we'd like it to be as small as possible.

I know the basics of towing, I've just never had to buy anything outright. Any advice on places to buy, brands to keep an eye out for, good sales, etc - I'm all ears!

I’d look around for a legally purchased uhaul car hauler. Those things are badass. Aluminum. 3500 lb axles. Long enough to fit a 4 door on but not overly long. Good weight distribution because of the length.

Flat tow the wrangler behind the truck?
Yes I agree. Blue ox flat tow rig is what I used for four years to flat tow my JLR behind my motor home. Now I pull my OffGridTrailer with JLR. So much fun.

Flat towing is much easier than using a trailer, the overall weight is lower and you do not need to find the space to park a trailer at home.
Many of us flat tow behind trucks and motorhomes, we have hauled our Jeeps behind a 24' Class C for over 100,000 miles.
Something to think about.

Any advice on equipment? This is all new to me.

Also, I would still need brake lights to be seen. How would that work with a vehicle directly behind me?

I think Blue Ox's stuff is the most common. Beyond just lighting, i believe there are harnesses that will fire the jeep brakes as well.

I'll 2nd the Uhaul auto transport trailer! Just rent one as needed... They're pretty reasonable and tow really nicely.
