For those that have traction boards/ramps, where do you store them on your jeep.... those w/o roof racks please.

I only have them with me when off roading, and I just throw them behind the back seat. Same with my hi-lift and shovel/axe.

I recommend anyone carrying recovery gear, especially large, heavy items like a HiLift and Maxtrax, ensure that they are properly tied down.

Traveling off-road is inherently unstable. And in the event of an accident, those tools can wreak havoc with the Jeep and most importantly, you.

Same question. With my JLU hardtop it seems like there's enough room between the top and the rollbar to stow them. Anyone tried this?

Have you tried this? Has it worked? Right now, I'm leaning towards putting them in the back seat and making sure they are somehow secured (seatbelt?!), but would love a more "permanent" mounting solution.

If tied to the roofrack, use more than 2 zipties to hold it to the rack.

Someone in the future in the middle of the woods is going to get a free set of traction boards that trees ripped off my Jeep, and I didnt notice till days later.

In for more ideas...

Maybe between roll bar and back quarter panel window space (in a bag), strapped around roll bar?

Could be worse - like the guy that I saw tear his entire roof rack off crossing under a fallen tree. Guess he forgot it was there.
