So in seeing the weld issue on the forum we went out to look at my JL, and it doesn’t look good for us... We ordered 2/19 and picked up 5/19 and the driver side is pretty bad!! So disheartening!! The amt of money we paid for our Jeep only to see the bad welds... we just got back from driving the Jeep to Pa.. so glad nothing happened during the trip... I have attached some photos of the welds... so scary.. in 1 photo you can even see the weld wire..

Read the STAR Publication released by FCA. Specifically check your front track bar mount welds. There is a new recall for failures.

These are my welds inspected it this morning. Not on the recall list fingers crossed. Mine was built July 16, 2018 at 6am. No QA marks on mine other than an green mark mid section of the track bar.

Those look great to me. These wouldn’t worry me at all.

So that is the weld wire sticking out ? You ought to ask a Jeep auto body expert about that .

I wouldn't worry about the amount of money at this point . That's water under the bridge .

You ought to call Mike Manley , CEO , to have a dedicated engineer assigned to your Jeep VIN number . Good luck .

I would prefer a new one considering they are not going to be able to see every spot that needs fixing.. how did this even happen.? Where is the quality control? Where is the concern for our safety?? Crushed right now!!

That's what the welds look like on my wife's. But her's is on the recall list. So I'm sure they will "inspect" it and say we are good. I've already ordered the track bar brace for it just because it makes sense to me to have it.

I would have some concerns, you can see the edges of the bracket in a few places. That would indicate the weld is of a little out of line. Especially the last one.

Still 10x better than a lot of them shown on here

GM used to make M-48 and M-60 tanks perfectly according to their military contracts .

If you look at the edges on all of them they are all pretty much the same. They would probably have to recall every single Jeep just to touch up the edges and I don’t see that happening. If it gets to bothering me that much I’ll take it to one of our off road shops before to have the corners welded before I take it to the dealer for any weld jobs.
