Yep, who will inspect all these Jeeps (hundreds of them) I uncovered in IL being transported to dealers as we speak? I guess the dealer. Do you trust them? Maybe not unless there is a specific recall to inspect frame welds. This excellent post describes the frame issue perfectly . I would go further and advise Jeep to STOP everything and solve the frame welds BEFORE doing anything : Just STOP already .
Let's see ; from April 16 ( your first post ) , until today , April 26 ; it took FCA 1 1/2 weeks for FCA to decide to swap you out a new Jeep ? And now the dealer won't return your phone calls ? And they won't give you a loaner ? Get the name and title of the "Chrysler Advisor" who said get you a new Jeep , and directly contact Sergio as soon as possible . He will have an executive secretary .Hi all, quick update, I think I will be getting a Lawyer involved now.
So the dealer where my Jeep was taken to told me they had a "Chrysler professional" come in and redo the welds and the Jeep is now perfect again. I denied taking back the vehicle and got my sales advisor involved at the dealership I purchased it from. She was able to get a Chrysler Advisor in and he took one look at the bad weld pictures and said "Get that guy a new jeep." I am amazed that one dealer was told to re-do the welds and another was told to give me a new Jeep.
As of now the dealership that I bought the Jeep from are "guaranteeing" me a new vehicle. BUT they are not returning my calls and I am still paying financing on a Jeep that is going to the junk yard.
What's also hilarious is that they wont give me a rental car. They said since the other vehicle was welded back together they cant give me a loaner since I could drive that one. They pretty much asked me to get back into a vehicle that almost killed my fiance and I. @JeepCares
Ive tried to get more info out of them on how large this issue is and how many vehicles could be involved but they have been silent. They did tell me though my jeep was from a line of vehicles that went through a robot that was doing low tolerance welds. Something you don't want to hear... Pretty scary stuff. I hope all your welds on your vehicles are ok, and you should all get them checked out by a professional.
I posted this earlier. Any thoughts on it now? If an attorney is going to cost you anything out-of-pocket it could save you. Also a lot of other concerned JL owners would appreciate the media coverage since your attorney and FCA will undoubtedly agree to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).Hi all, quick update:

Wow, what a strong contrast. "Jeep is now perfect" vs. "low tolerance welds".Hi all, quick update:

I'm sorry to hear about your situation but I had to laugh at the response they've given you. It's almost like they feel YOU owe them something for the inconvenience and hassles you put them through.Hi all, quick update:

I have asked twice and someone else once with no answer. Hope you get one...OP when was your Jeep built?
It is kind of important information to share... I am not sure why the OP wouldn't share it.I have asked twice and someone else once with no answer. Hope you get one...
Did you try PM? Maybe he doesn’t know how to figure it out or too preoccupied with this debacle. Or doesn’t visit this forum enough or just doesn’t care to share? It is kind of important information to share... I am not sure why the OP wouldn't share it.
On your VIN stickerHow do you tell build date?
Assembly date in Toledo is not the same as the weld date ; especially if the low-tolerance welds , instead of high-tolerance welds , were made by an outside contractor , at an earlier time , somewhere else , by a low robot , instead of a high robot . Anyway , all robot welds must be double-inspected by trained human inspectors . And more than all that , a track bar ought not shear off at the weld under any circumstances .Sorry all, Jeep was built Last week of January.
