I've searched all over and cannot find a definitive answer from anyone that can confirm if they safely and securely towed a NuCamp TAB 400 trailer with a newer 4 door Wrangler. Lots of TAB 320 posts though.

Anybody aware of anyone confirming using a JLU to tow this camping trailer?

Thanks all!

I towed a 2019 T@B 400 with a 2018 JLU Turbo Sahara....towed VERY VERY EASY! Barely felt it back there. Easy acceleration from dead stop at a stop light, easy braking. No straining to change gears (automatic) No increase in temps. I did use a weight distribution hitch though and it was definitely needed for the 2019 which has a heavier tongue weight than the later models of the T@B. I only had 1/4" squat on the rear of 2018 Jeep with the WDH. I bought a 2021 4xe (same gas engine as the 2018) last April but of course the electric engine adds alot of power (375HP and 470 torque) but I absolutely towed beautifully with the 2018 Sahara Turbo. I'm sure the 6 cylinder would do just as well. If you want more details you are welcome to PM me. I've got ALOT of towing experience with the 400 and Jeep. I will not need the WDH with the 2022 400.

Which year 400 are you getting? 2019 and earlier and some early 2020 models had a 100lb heavier tongue weight. 400+. 2021 to present has about 320lb tongue weight. I made some mods to my 2019 400 to get it down to about 350 and it towed beautifully. I decided to get the newer lighter weight 400 because I was tired of dealing with the WDH.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I've got a 2019 JLU MOAB with the tow package and 3.6L 6 cylinder with the SelecTrac. I'm glad to see someone without a Rubicon answer truthfully. I guess the Turbo is the only difference? Gear ratios maybe?

I'm getting a 2021 TAB 400 Boondock (would love a 2022 but so hard to find in Boondock edition) for that very reason, the lower tongue weight.

How many pounds in full tanks and loaded gear did you have on it? Most people keep telling me I'm crazy but I will add a break controller and WDH and anything else I need to buy to tow the 400 vs the 320 I know tows easily.
