i second on a couple of post about pulling from the rear. keep in mind that the rear tow hook is lower than the front one. so with that it will help not having a high and low points while pulling someone out, this will avoid any damage to a lower vehicle. as for hook style strap. i would avoid using them. i've seen them snap, break, and fly off the the mounting points. as a safety point only use the loop from the strap and if possible use a shackle.

I’m happy to report.. my daughters car is out. I simply knotted the tow hook end to create a loop on the rear red tow hook. Used metal hook on the Subaru, gave the Rubi a little gas and out of the culvert with absolute ease. Thanks everyone.

A couple of points for future consideration:

1. Nylon is a poor choice as it is stretchy and once stretched won’t return to it’s original length/strength.
2. A knot in a rope will reduce it’s strength by about 50%.
