Hi all, I bought an aftermarket tow hitch that I am trying to install but there are two bolts welded to my bumper. How do I remove them so I can put this aftermarket hitch on?

I used a hacksaw and cut them off of the receiver. Then I slid it between the bracket and the frame. Used the bolts that were already there with the welded nuts and used two that came with the receiver.. Works great.

I just installed a Mopar hitch last weekend, and you'll need to drop the rear bumper and take that reinforcement bracket off. The nuts are welded to the bracket, and the bracket is screwed on to the bumper (See step 3). Its not too difficult to do. I'm attaching the Mopar instructions that show removal of the bracket.

@CivilJeep

Good info here... thanks for posting the install directions..

Guys here also have reported that they did not actually have to pull the bumper.. Apparently you can loosen things up, etc. and with some prying that bracket will come out.
