Totaled or Not?

Sooooo what a beautiful thing to walk up to my Rubicon Sunday afternoon. Someone hit me in a 4 car collision while my Jeep was parked Sunday morning. I guess the truck driver lost control because a BMW jumped in front of him causing him to swerve and hit me and the Lexus(all while I was asleep). Then I go up to my car that afternoon confused with a police incident report with all the cars involved and what happened.
So thankfully no one was hurt, but I am pretty bummed because literally the day before I just bought new 35s and Method Wheels for it (thank god it was back ordered). So it’s in the shop and I’m waiting for the shop and AAA to tell me if it’s totaled or not.

OH! To add insult to injury, my 1yr anniversary with my Jeep was July 4th. 1 year and 1 day I only had with her.

Not a chance it’s totaled. New axle, front drive shaft, front suspension, and the cosmetics then you will be good to go.

Hooah, appreciate that. This is my first Jeep since getting out of Active Duty from Fort Huachuca and I’m still learning about my Jeep, and of course my luck. Thanks for your insight!

I'm going to go with no, but with the caveat that there is no frame damage. I worked for a large insurance company, and worked daily with the field appraisers. One of the things that would push a vehicle to Total would be extensive frame damage- basically if it wasn't able to be put on a rack and pulled without compromising the structural integrity, that was it. Axle housings can be tough too. Also: if the axle housing is bent or warped, make sure they try to get you a new one or replace it so it's true. I had a buddy that got tagged similarly in his '05 LJ and he had issues repairing it.

Good news is you have a Jeep, it's a Rubi, and it's still pretty new. As long as the mileage isn't exorbitantly high, you should be ok, from the look of it. Good luck, hopefully you'll be rolling again in no time.

Based on the pictures, I do NOT believe this is totaled. I previously was a firefighter/paramedic and seen much worse survive. It all honestly depends if the frame is bent. Based on the pictures it does not look like your airbags deployed, which is good too. Now is a good time to upgrade your axles to 1 ton!! Good luck, hope you are back on the road soon!

Regarding the fire damage, agree it’s totaled. That said, if you can drive it into the water and add some flood damage, on average the Jeep will be perfect.

Hope no one was hurt and that you can get past this issue... Geeez, that was a decent looking JL too... to bad it burn't...

And.............
Before they haul that totaled JL away, consider pulling the black panel (pulls off easily) off the tail gate, and once pulled, remove say 7 or of the green retaining clips on the back of the plastic you pulled off. The panel can then/still be pushed back on and no one will notice.

Those green retaining plastic clips are like gold... geeez, forum guys here, will give you say $8-10 for each green retaining clip..

Also, the plastic panel directly under the steering wheel... the while clip used on it are worth money also. Remove a few and push plastic back on.

White retaining clips can be had but the GREEN RETAINING CLIPS can only be had if you buy the whole panel at $110+.

Anyway, an easy way for you to make $100 or so..... clips can get mailed in a regular envelope to the buyer...

Update, got her back. Was not totaled, roughly 10k in damages with the fender, wheels,tires, and suspension only. Now we’re back but it’ll never be like 100% again I’m sure. Also added my 35s and Method wheels, adding the 2” Mopar lift next week.
