Totaled? :( 18’ Jeep Wrangler Sahara JL

I flipped my Jeep yesterday. Thankfully, I walked away from it. The insurance company told me it was flagging as totaled in their system just by me telling them of the damages. I won’t hear back from an adjuster until next week. My passenger front tire broke completely from the vehicle, axle and all! It landed about 30 feet away. What do you all think?

Both airbags deployed, on its side, imact strong enough to blow a freedom top off and a wheel ripped off, damage to other front wheel.

Totaled, I would guess.

I couldn't say for sure if it's totaled, but we don't know if @Lona.lynn removed the panel to get out.

Wow, glad you are OK. Looks totaled, but I am no expert. How did the wheel break off from the axle???

Well it doesn't really look that bad. I've seen some mangled vehicles get fixed, BUT there's often a lot of things photos don't show. For one the deployment of the front/side air bags is a very expensive fix so that accounts for a lot. The other expense being that there's going to need a lot of paint work. Mechanically, I don't think it's be an issue, it's going to be the "little" stuff that get it.
Hard to tell if it's totaled or not, but if it is, I'd take the salvage title because there's a LOT of usable parts. You can make a dedicated trail rig, or let the vultures pick it clean. Either way, I'd take the salvage on it if it were mine.

Fair enough. But, if that’s true, it sure seems like it was tossed a great distance. Maybe flung out of the way by the emergency crew?

I also notice that there is a large fluid leak. Gas?

The panel certainly is pretty far from the Jeep and it's scuffed up pretty good. The more I look at it, you may be right, seeing that the top part of the frame where the panel meets the door is bent inwards a bit. I didn't see it earlier, but that fluid stain is right where the gas cap is.

I'm glad she's ok, but I can't help but to be curious as to how this happened.

Well, my roots are in Kentucky and though it's been a long time since I was there, I can say that there aren't a lot of straight flat roads down there. At least as far as memory serves. That said we can also see a S-curve sign in the background. Pretty fair assumption that she had just come through another curve, or series of them. Obviously it's purely speculation, but since the passenger front wheel is the one that broke off, I'd venture a guess to say that she drove slightly off the right side of the road, striking a rock (or rock face) and it flopped while coming back to the road. Why she went off the road, who knows. Could have been swerving to avoid something, could have just failed to negotiate the curve, could have been clipped by another car. The list goes on. I'm kinda curious to find out what happened too.

It's always hard to tell from pictures what is bent, and what is straight. Like most chiming in, I'm no expert, but I'd say there's a 70% chance this is totaled.

3 Totaled? idk that's a 45k jeep, going to depend on some things, doesn't look bad, but who knows what the frame took, broken welds, bent frame.

4...can I buy the gas tank cover?

if totaled there are some parts that look ok, I would strip it if possible
