Too much antenna deflection?

I have a cowl bracket for my CB. I installed a 3’ firestik, with a medium spring intended to let it deal with low branches on trails.
Speeds over 45 it deflects quite a bit. Is this ok? I want to keep the radio available on normal driving, but I don’t want to wear it out so it snaps some day going down the highway. Am I worried for nothing? Should I take the spring off for daily use and reinstall it for offroad use? Will that impact the antenna tune?

Swapping the spring in/out will effect the tune.
Unless you have an issue with it hitting the windshield I wouldn't worry about it.
