My tires are already pretty much at 10,000 miles and I've already done 2 tire rotations at 4,000 miles each because I do them when I do my oil changes. My local tire shop does my tire rotations for free but I didn't think of this until now I just assumed that they would do a 5 wheel rotation so I didn't tell them or ask them to do a 5 wheel rotation so the last two rotations were 4 wheel rotations. I feel like at 10,000 miles my 5th tire would kinda throw things off if I were to throw it into the rotation since its never been used and I'm already at almost 10,000 miles but was curious to see what you guys think. 10,000 miles too late to add in the never used 5th tire into the rotation or should I just stick with the 4 wheel rotation? When my tires go bad and I need to get new tires should I just get the 4 replaced but leave the 5th tire the same and just keep doing the 4 wheel rotation? Since the 5th tire is going to have some wear over time from weather and environment would it be a bad idea to do a 5 wheel rotation when I do end up getting the 4 tires replaced in the future?

I would say go to your tire shop and have them put the worst one on the back and put the spare into rotation, 10k miles is not much

It is not too late to start a 5 tire rotation. You may want to make it clear with them what your 5 tire rotation pattern looks like. This is what I use.
