I'm sorry what happened to you. At least your car's final resting place is in cottonwood which is a beautiful place. Now, 2.0 L is garbage. You have your deniers that are trying to convince anyone it's not true but the fact is 2.0L was the only engine in the history where the manufacturer would pay you to take it off their hands.
And no the car wont be lemoned. If they fix it there's nothing you can do unless they keep it for months.
Wake up in a sour mood today, or is this just you? Whichever itā€™s just your opinionā€¦
First step is to read the lemon law in Arizona, every state is different. Then decide if you have the time to do all thatā€™s required. Then call an attorney. Donā€™t waste time dealing with Jeep by phone or waiting for them to get back to you. Continue being a nice guy in your life and hire a pit bull.

Interesting that at least a few of the issues I've heard seem to be assembly problems. Where TF are Wranglers built and why is Stellantis still building them there?

Interesting. I donā€™t see this as an engine problem. The engine seems solid.

I see this as a coolant system failure (which will destroy any engine). The coolant System seems to be the issue.
Yeah, that's pretty much what I was implying. I'm not an automotive engineer so I know nothing about the severability of FCA's systems on this engine. If the coolant system (specifically, the piping) is the issue then we'll have to see if FCA deems that as a severable system, and if so, what will they replace it with? As I mentioned, Ford has a solid block AND system design with their Ecoboosts at the 2.3, 2.7, and 3.0 sizes, but they got a bad batch of valves on the 2.7s and that's causing a few failures right now. That should resolve pretty quickly. If FCA isolates the issue and is able to substitute a better system mid-stride that should resolve quickly as well. My beef with FCA (and Chrysler before that) has been programming. So far the JLs are proving to be just as quirky. Hopefully though they will come through in the short term for the OP. I hate to see new Wrangler owners get bad vibes from solvable (by FCA) problems.

Are you being serious? Famously: Toledo, Ohio.

The real question is where the 2.0 is built, not the Jeep.

No, the real question is why arenā€™t they assembling the cooling system correctly?

(2.0T is made in Italy, bullet-proof in all applications when provided with adequate coolant).

I would bet you everything Iā€™ve got that the water pump is big installed to the engine at the factory in Ohio.

Sure. Maybe?
But I havenā€™t heard a single person here or on the other 2.0 threads describing a water pump failure. Maybe I missed it.

What about 10-15 forum members ARE describing is constant coolant odors, and coolant leaks, and just as many with low coolant reservoirs. Something is causing leaks in the system. I donā€™t blame the engine or water pump for that.

I bought my wrangler new in January 2022 and had a concern about overheating early on as the fan would come on without much effort, but I disregarded that because as soon as the fans came on the engine would cool down. At that time oil temps were maxing out around 215 before fans would cool things down.

This past weekend, I had a really terrible experience. I was driving up north on the I-17 from Phoenix, when I suddenly got a warning light for overheating. I immediately pulled over to the safest place I could find (really not safe at all) and put the car in neutral and let the engine And fans run which ultimately cools down the engine to normal temperatures.

Long story short I got stuck on the side of this busy highway til 1AM because no one was apparently available to tow me according to both my insurance company and Jeep Wave program. So I thankfully got a ride. Had to get to my work the same morning at 5:30 on Saturday (life of a resident). The car finally got towed the following Monday to Jeep Oxendale in Cottonwood (this all happened Friday night).

I was initially told by service crew that the rear diff was locked up which was the report they received from the tow driver. Based on that, I was told it would take minimum three months to complete a repair.

Two days layer, I received a call with great news that the issue was not at all the rear diff and the tow truck driver was nuts (which was my suspicion too). The repair was a simple radiator hose that needed to be replaced and it would be ready by Friday the same week.

Come Friday I call to check on my car and am told that they test ran the vehicle and the engine shut off and would not start again. The engine needs a complete swap.

I am beyond bummed out. This is my second wrangler. First one also had bizarre issues Including a faulty fuel tank that needed to be replaced and multiple other issues. Nonetheless I have Jeep another chance and picked up this wrangler which I absolutely adore and named Zaytuna (Arabic for olive). Hand washed it almost every weekend and took it off road in Sedona where it performed awesome and took me to beautiful places.

So I am very upset with the whole situation - I am out of a brand new car that I love and donā€™t have a vehicle for likely 3-6 months for this engine replacement. I am in contact with FCA and am expecting a call from someone on Monday or Tuesday (6/20-6/21) to go through more details and determine if they will buy back my vehicle.

I am apparently a masochist and still want to drive a 2-door wrangler, however have no interest in driving the piece of junk that was sold to me with an engine that failed at 9223 miles.

My question is: what experiences have people here had with FCA buy back program? I prefer not to involve an attorney but absolutely would if needed. Thanks for reading!

Note: Vehicle was bought at Chapman Jeep in Scottsdale, AZ. It is currently sitting at Oxendale Jeep in Cottonwood, AZ (great people there).

ahhhhh that friggin stinks!!!! so sorry to hear.

Ive been through this a few times with FCA - and the short version is youre not going to get a buyback - they will swap the engine out.

I had a Renegade at around 25K miles needed a transmission replaced

at 65k miles needed the engine replaced.

FCA sucks like that. The require a corporate inspector to come and write up a report BEFORE the dealer can order any parts or do any work - once its "approved" on corporate - then the dealer can begin to order parts and then work (whenever the parts arrive) - get a loaner vehicle from the dealer and tack as many miles on that baby as you can - its going to be a while sadly.

each event took over 6 months to do for me.

Probably leaking from hose clamp. They are not the best and can leave you stranded.
Check for discoloration around the hoses.

Also, your Jeep can benefit greatly.... if you change out the rubber hoses -for hi-temp silicone replacements. Not sure why Jeep is still utilizing rubber hoses in a such a potentionally hot engine compartment.

Changed mine to properly sized constant-tension hose clamps & hi temp reinforced silicone hoses.

What specific hoses did you get and where did you get them? I have seen packaged sets of silicone hoses available for specific vehicles but not for a Jeep. The sets come with the hoses you need in correct sizes with proper bends in them.

Mishimoto has radiator hoses for the 3.6 and 2.0 - https://www.mishimoto.com/truck-jeep.html

HPS Performance has hoses by size and bends - https://hpsperformanceproducts.com/

Unfortunately, at this time I'm not aware of any complete hoses kits for JL/JLU
