To Gobi or not to Gobi...

Hi,

Suprise to see the 100 buck upcharge, if you like it get it, if you think you'll like a different color better then get that, as most of us don't order new Jeeps or other vehicles that often.

I got Hydro but almost went Sarge Green, but already have a green vehicle.

Gobi is a great looking color but I can't help feel like it makes it look like a Safari tour guide fleet vehicle. It's like accidentally wandering into Target wearing a red shirt and beige kakis ... someone is bound to ask you what isle the lawn chairs are in.

Just depends on how its setup. I always bought silver for ease of staying clean but Gobi is even easier to maintain.

I bought a Gobi JT and loved it! As soon as they announce Gobi for the JL I ordered a 392. By far my favorite color. When off road the color is in its element.

Dirt is essentially grey/light brown so anything from this color to that will hide dirt well. Hmmm, I'm lazy and metallic silver is my favorite vehicle color ... coincidence?

It's funny to me how different this color looks from one photo to the next.
I've seen it in person on a Gladiator Mojave and loved it. I see other photos online of it and really don't care for it. Jeep's online configurator doesn't do the color justice.

Gobi would be a top choice if I was buying right now. Matched with black, it looks great.

Colors can be weird. I scoffed at the "Punkin'" color, but now that I have it I love it. But like Yellow, I don't think it would look good with color matching top and fenders. However, I do think color matching top and fenders work well on a two door.

Get whatever you like and enjoy it.

Also, yellow is good on exotics and a vette, that's about it.

My previous 2018 Dodge Challenger T/A in Yellow Jacket was easy on the eyes....IMO. The contrasting matte black and retro looks made it a head turner.

Gobi would be my choice if I were to buy today. I'd like to see more desert southwest colors on the JL. How about a factory desert camo?
