To go extreme recon or not for daily

Wondering what mpg difference I could expect with and without extreme recon on the 2.0t. Gonna order a 2024 Willy’s and love the look of the extreme recon package and can’t decide if i want to sacrifice mpg. What kind of mpg are you guys getting with the 2.0t and rx package? Willys now comes with 33 inch tires so not as big of difference vs pas years 32inch tires. Daily driver with a small commute of 38 miles total to work and back weekdays

My dad lives at silver lake sand dunes so most off roading will be there but who knows maybe after I get it I will want to do a lot more haha. I love the look of the lift and bigger tires more than stock so even with not a ton of off road it’s making me want it. I have been trying to find some real world comparisons of mpg with and without but most are for the v6 I have found.

I have a 23 XR with the 3.6L and getting ready to turn 4k miles. Stock at this point other than different wheels with the stock tires. Its currently averaging 19.4 mpg per tank of gas. People so often get a new Jeep and then freak out over the mpg. New engines and vehicles need to break-in and loosen up before you can get a true mpg reading. At less than 1000k miles it was down in the 15 mpg range. It has steadily come up as the vehicle has gotten more miles on it. I wouldn't be surprised if it improves alittle more as it gets closer to 10k miles on it.
And with what these cost and such a short commute, if gas mileage is a concern perhaps a Jeep is not the right vehicle?

I think the mpg "hit" would be minor worst case.

38 mi commute = 190 mi per week, a 2mpg “hit” would burn ~1 1/2 extra gallons. Pass on Starbucks once a week ., or spring for about 1.5 gallons to get what you want .( figures using low 17 vs 15 mpg,….20 vs 18 is ~1 gallon)

I DD mine and I'm getting 16.4 MPG. Granted it is only 11 miles with mostly a lot of stop lights. Still almost 3 MPG better than what I was getting in my Gladiator

I'm going to agree with this and take it a step further. If you're worried about the MPG difference on 190 miles of commuting a week are you sure you should even be buying a new $45,000 Wrangler at all?

My 2Dr Rubicon 2.0L gets about 20 miles in town and 24 when I get out in the highway. It's a good little engine and drives great.

You gain a lot less going XR on the 24 Willys than you did on the 22's and 23's. The 24's already come with wide axles, 4.10s and a rear locker, which is way more useful than the 3.45s and M186 they had previously.

I will also add: are you the type of person that likes to mod your cars and constantly change/upgrade things. I started with the XR and only things left from the package is the gears and iron knuckles (for now). Just take that into consideration. I sold all the stock parts so didn’t take too big of a hit but would have saved going with a normal rubicon. Just something to think about.

It's a difference of maybe 1 mpg between the 2. You can make far more impact on fuel economy by accelerating gently and slowing down by 5mph on the freeway. The wife has daily driven both our 2019 JLUR 2.0t, which ended up on 3.5" lift and 38's and our 2022 jlur 3.6 with xr about 40 total miles per day. The 2.0t delivered 17-18mpg on 38s, the v6 delivers 16 on the stock 35s.

Just curious, are you still on 4.56's? I'm on 37's and 5.13s (6spd) and see low 14 mpg's.
