Editing out one of your more ridiculous (and telling) comments doesn't remove it from the conversation. You said it = own it.

..and the other thing you conveniently leave out of your criticism of my state is that, despite our immorality, our socialism, the exodus of people who hate our liberalism, our unconstitutional gun control and other laws -- despite all the criticisms you levied against us -- our economy grew at TWICE the national average last year.

I guess we're doing as bad as you seem to suggest. LOL

This thread is pure gold, and a perfect example of a big part of what is wrong with our country. "Stop bashing my state because I believe its awesome". Great for you! California is a beautiful state, but in my opinion has some issues.

You argue about choice, the right to choose one thing or another with conviction, but what about my right to "choose" to own a firearm, regardless of what it looks like. Its hypocrisy at its finest. See things my way because I am right morally, and you are wrong because you don't see things the way I do. I don't give a crap if someone wants to identify as this or that sex, there are only to sexes, and biologically you cannot choose between either one. The problem comes when we are forced by govt to use specific terminology to address said individual. Believe it or not that is where it's heading. I also don't care about the legalization of weed. Neither of these items has a direct impact on my life.

It was said earlier on that, "we dissagree", why can't a civil conversation about policy in CA happen without devolving into personal attacks.

Do you recognize the state's interest in telling people they may not own a nuclear bomb? If yes, then you have to accept reasonable gun control. It's that simple.

The government doesn't "force" people to use proper gender (or genderless) pronouns, any more than the government forces people not to use the "n-word". After all these years, you still have the absolute right to stand on a corner and use the n-word as much as you want, as long as you don't start a fight.

Public schools are an exception - there are several constitutional rights which do not carry into the public schools for various reasons (e.g. right to privacy of your locker, right to wear a t-shirt that says whatever you want..).

You are confusing being forced by government to being coerced by changes in morality and respect for others (that evolve word I used above). No one is repealing the First Amendment - that's a manufactured "crisis" like the current southern border bullshit (the border was worse 10 years ago than it is now - some crisis).

An employer can force employees not to refer to other employees with the "N-word" in the workplace? That same employer can demand you refer to a co-worker in a respectful way as to their preferred pronouns. Not a violation of free speech - it's done on the basis of hostile work environment.

Do you realize that you are arguing for your right to speak disrespectfully to a fellow American? To call that person names, mock them, and insult them? Sure that remains your constitutional right but you really want to be thought of as admirable for it? Or the alternative, which is you want to be thought of as admirable because you disrespect people..

Many of the things you said are insulting on a personal level - so don't be a hypocrite snowflake now that you're butt-hurt.

Whoa, didn't meant to personally offend you, but your response proves my point, why go straight to name calling, I didn't call you names. You don't know me, I don't know you, I am not offended by the snowflake comment. As I already stated this is the problem, getting offended by someone's opinion regardless of the topic is part of the problem, civil discussion about any topic is lost on some.

So I will leave you on your "moral" high ground! Enjoy California in ALL its glory! I am not going to feed this anymore.

Well - you called California a shithole and also a "bastion of immorality". I consider those personal insults.

And I hardly went straight to personal attacks on you -- that took a while. You ignore responses that evidence why your opinions are not based on facts, and then get upset with me when I call you a pussy?

I think the reason California's economy grew by twice the national average is that people like me are bright, willing to evolve, and not mired in hate and animosity over change.

So do you think you have the constitutional right to own nuclear bombs, friend?

OK, I think YOU need to re-examine who posted what, I have made two other posts here. I did not call CA a shithole or anything else. So take a second look here chief, and wipe all that internet rage from you eyes, and you will see the truth.

    Again have a great day!

Whoops, he assumed my identity, I guess I will go "snowflake" and rage....and be offended. I think not. I suppose that if he was to personally assume responsibility for being offended for everyone in CA, when others do not share the same opinion or values on how things should be, he can. It costs me nothing.

I support the right of women to choose what to do with their bodies as well.
I support their choice to work or not.
I support their choice to spend the money earned from their labor as they see fit.
I support their choice to become a doctor and decide for themselves the worth of their services.
I support her right to raise their children as she and the father see fit.

When it comes to childbirth, I’m pro choice as well. The 4 choices being motherhood, adoption, abstinence, or birth control. The only option I do not and cannot support is the mother killing her child because it is an inconvenience.

You can’t argue away the value of a human life.

We don't get to decide for another person when they consider it a human life. And that's what the U.S. Constitution says about it too - for 50 years.

Also dare I ask, what about in cases of rape, incest, or the life of the mother?

You mean because less than 1% of all abortions are due to a crime being committed by the babies father, do I find them at all to be acceptable? Absolutely not. The life of the mother being at stake is the only case in which abortion should be legal, and it is a tragedy that I have personally lived through. You cannot devalue a human life just for the convenience of a few radical women.
