It all depends on if you drive mainly in-town, or highways. Straight driving, or a lot of turns. When my driving was 90%+ on the highways, I would get over 50k on the tires. Now that my driving is 98%+ urban driving, I will be lucky to get 30k out of them.

The spare will eventually get tire rot. You're also assuming that you'll never get a different size of tire. Sorry, but that sounds boring.
Well I'm not getting different size tires considering I have 5 more used KO2 in my storage shed waiting to be put on in a few months, but lots of people do change tire sizes. My tires will last long enough that I would worry about the spare getting really old if I didn't use it. For someone who goes through a set of tires in 2 years it might be reasonable to keep the spare for 4 years. Rotating the spare helps get your money's worthy out of it but it's work to do it. Even my KO2 is heavier than what I want to be picking up and putting on the mount.

Oops, sorry. They are the Goodyear Wrangler tires that come standard on the JLU Sport in 2019.

And I just measured and realized there is a much bigger difference between front and back. So, it is just me not keeping up with rotating the tires.
We're at 42K on the Goodyears on my wife's '18. I rotated in the spare at probably 10K miles because the dealership didn't with the first free rotation. After that I started doing them myself. Four of them now are at about 5/32" so they're going to get replaced before the snow flies. Just debating 285/70s and installing some Rubicon springs/shocks or going with 265/70s to stay with stock height tires, just wider.

Go with the 285/70/17 tire. The smaller ones just don't look right with the Rubi take-off suspension. I tried that at first.

Oh definitely...my wife is still debating whether she wants the extra height. She just has to decide before we get the tires. My son priced them out at work today and the cost difference between the two sizes is minimal. We ask every now and again if she wants us to lift it, but if she keeps the stock Sport springs, I'd go with the 265s.

Yes definitely use the Rubicon tire size with Rubicon suspension. This is why my Sport looks like with Rubicon tires and suspension.

Looks great! I would definitely do it again if she wants; we put Rubicon takeoffs on my JL three years ago in my driveway and it was an easy job. It'll be even easier now that my son works in a shop and has a lift  .

On my '18, I have over 40K miles after 4 years. I rotate all five every 5k with oil and filter change. These Falken Wildpeak A/T's are lasting longer than I expected.
