I bought myself the 8"x17 Mopar Beadlock capable wheels. I am definitely going with Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I am going back and forth with what size to get.

315/70/17 or 35x12.5/R17. Both are E rated, very slight difference in size. Probably not even noticeable. Very similar specs.

I originally wanted the 35x12 but it says the wheel should be 8.5"-11" and my wheel is 8".
The 315/70/17 says wheel should be 8"-11" and it is also 5 lbs lighter than the 35x12 which would help a little anyway.

Which would you go with?

TIA

What lift are you going with?
Might also look at a 285/75/17, that size w/ the Nittos is available in a C load rating or an E rated and will mount a bit better on an 8" width.

2-1/2” Teraflex. Looked at that size as well. I think I want E anyway.

I've been happy w/ my E-rated set, running at 30 psi helps quite a bit too!

What’s the price difference? Either will be fine as the tire width difference is in actuality probably .3 of an inch.
Usually 315s are slightly less wide but the nitto specs show the 315 as wider than the 12.5 which is strange.
Like you say the 315s are lighter but either will do.

Yeah I thought it was strange that it was wider than the 35. Tread depth is a little less which lead to the weight reduction. Not sure about price difference yet though.

The wheel size doesn't matter both will work perfectly...the lighter would be better...if you really want a full 35x12.5 get the 35...otherwise to the eye they will not look different really. My opinion is always lean to the lightest option possible unless you are a hardcore crawler on every other weekend which in that case go with the heavier and thicker tires like the trail grapplers or cooper STT pros...those mopar beadlocks are going to look awesome!

The 35x12.50 will work it'll Just be a pain in the *ss to mount on the rim with a E rated tire.

I currently have ridge grapplers that are 315s on a 9.5" rim. I went with these because they were SIGNIFICANTLY less money when I purchased. Computer (Tazer Lite) is set to 34.4 to run true to GPS speed so I call them 34s. Now I'm wishing I'd gone bigger and am going up to 37s, and looking at Patagonias, KM3s and Goodyear MT/Rs.

@Laz I like them on the road a lot, and offroad they do really well except for mud. They are also pretty heavy. I purchased another car for commuting thoguh so I can go more off-road specific for the Jeep, so I'm going bigger and MT vs Hybrid.
