My 2023 JLU came with new tires, so I've waited to replace them. I am starting the look.

I'm sitting on 255/70R18, and intend to remain there or go 265/70R18. Oddly, the prices for the same tires seems to be lower at 265... Aside from the normal BFG KO3 and Wrangler Duratrac which I always see, I hear Falken, Yokohama, Nitto and Toyo are also good. To be open, I put Toyo Open Country A/T III on the wife's jeep by recommendation.

So I guess I'm just looking for some real world opinion. I do moderate to light off-road, no rock crawling. At best I am a 30-40% off-road driver. I want 3 peak, and e/d for load range depending on tire. Lastly, apart for some speed and MPG difference, anything I need to be aware of going with 265?

On our Jeeps we use MickeyThompson, BFGoodrich, and Nitto tires. All are good brands and will last a long time. If you're spending a majority of your time on the road I would recommend an A/T tire, This will still give you the grip of a M/T on the trail while also not wearing as fast on road. Give us a call if you have further questions and we will help you find the right tires for your Jeep!

I’m a life long supporter of BFG A/T been running them off and on when ever I have a 4x4 for the last 40 years. Great overall tire and sounds like a good fit for what type of wheeling you do.

Since when? If an A/T had the same grip offroad as a M/T but lasted longer, there would be no need for M/T's.

OP, if you're going to stick to the trails that you're currently doing on stock sahara street tires, any of the current A/T's will work great. I'd recommend looking for the lightest C rated tire you can find thats still a name brand. You'll have more grip than your factory style tires, but not lose much (if any) road manners/performance/mpg.
