Today, after I pulled in the garage, came to a complete stop and just turned off the engine, I heard a thud like sound from the floor of the JLUR - it seemed to come from in between the front seat and the parking brake area. It sounded like I dropped my phone but the phone was in my pocket. And I checked under all the seats if something heavy fell but found nothing. I peeked under the Jeep but found nothing unusual. I took it out and drove 5 miles on the street and on the freeway and no CEL or anything.

Any guesses?

Could it come from the transmission - or from the differential underneath?
Or could the driver or passenger seat may not have been locked properly in place, and snapped back onto position?
Could it have been a contracting sound from underneath?

Mystery to me. Any thoughts? Thanks.

It is a brand new 2.0L 2020 JLUR with 800 miles on it.

Hi Capricorn,

We certainly understand why this would be concerning. If you notice this becomes more prevalent and you decide to address this with your dealer, please send us a PM. We'd be happy to have this documented and provide you with an additional layer of assistance during that process.
