Someone had success doing that early in this thread as well. I didn't have success with it. Over about a month, I clocked my drive shaft in all 8 positions at the pinion and tailshaft and didn't notice a difference. It's easy enough to be worth a shot tho if you haven't tried it.
Do you have to take the shaft out? Not sure on how to do

So I’ve been following this conversation for months now. I’m happy to say my 2020 Rubicon no longer has any vibrations after installing a 2.5” Metalclock lift and adding 35s on Fuel wheels.

I added the wheels and tires about four days before I installed the lift. I never got it up to speed so I honestly can’t say which resolved it. But I had the off and on vibration, not terribly bad, but noticeable between 63-67 mph.

Hi Hotlanta,
I understand why this would be concerning. Have you made your dealer aware of this? If so, you may also send us a private message so we can help address and questions or concerns you have.

I have the same problem and Jeep Care said there is nothing they can do for me.

I had no change after having the tires road force balanced and the rear shaft balance checked and flipped end for end. This week I retorqued the wheel nuts to 95 ft lbs and it seemed about 50% better. Yesterday I swapped wheels and tires with a friend and it was fixed! I put mine back on and rotated them (x them) and it seems OK now. I'm convinced it is a problem with the rims!

What type of wheels/tires did you borrow from your friend? We’re they the stock rubi wheels?

there is a know problem with the front Diff on the JLs just crapping out shift into 4WD and see it is gets louder if it does have them take the front diff apart and look at the oil and gears i have seen pictures of brand new jeeps with teeth missing on the front gears and pinion.

you do know that torque spec for lug nuts on a JL is 130lbs not 95lbs

I know the torque specs of the JL but that much on the JL seems to exasperate the problem, trust me the nuts aren't going to come loose torqued at 95 lbs. The studs are larger on a JL so that's why the are torqued at 130 but the wheels may be distorting with that much torque

Its the rear drive shaft due to the factory lift and no correction to the drive shaft angle. Either put a drive shaft on with a cv joint on the transfer case end or adjustable lower control arms so you can get the angles back in spec.
Do you know this for sure? Have you actually fixed one with this Thrumming or just an educated guess?

New 2021 Jeep JL, exact same issue, vibration and cycling thrum, thrum noise. Has anybody found a solution?
No and the dealer is a waste of time and JeepCares is also a waste of your time. They only give you the perception of caring they do nothing!!!!! Mine has been to 2 dealers and both basically told me its a Jeep get use to it. Great answer.:(

I want to put it out there that I've been having the same problem ever since I bought my Jeep. I've been taking it back to the dealership over and over again. They've had it, in total, for 21 days.
IT'S FINALLY FIXED!!!
The dealership finally replaced all 4 tires and the 2 rear rims and the vibration is gone!!! They said they couldn't nail down exactly what it was but I don't care, it's gone.
Jeep was absolutely no help in the process. Jeep would not pay for anything. They told the dealership to make me pay for it. It was the dealership that stepped up and ate the cost for the fix. BTW... the dealership did try all the things on the thread like the U joint and the rear drive shaft and ground force balancing the tires. None of that worked.
I hope this helps some people figure out their situation. Good luck!!
Mine and many others have had tires and rims replaced with no fix??? Mine has had 2 sets of rims and 2 types of tires with no fix???

Has this been reported to jeep cares. I know they usually have someone follow these threads but I haven't seen anything from them on this. Is this experience d on non rubicon models? Maybe it's the height of the fenders if not. Is it any better in the rain for anyone? It's really aggervating that jeeps are not cheap and we have this problem.
JeepCares is a waste of your time!!!

I ended up buying 4 new rims and 37s, I can honestly say the vibration is 90% gone. I can say I like my Jeep now but it cost me some dollars to accomplish.

I just got new wheels and tires and havent noticed the thrumming anymore. I feel like it is the tires after all but I see some have replaced the tires and still feel/hear it. Wonder if we are talking about 2 different vibrations here? Mine seems to have gone with the new wheels.
