Im not sure I understand your point. Waze provides cool information for sure. It also steals as much about you as possible. More than you can even imagine.
Nothing is free. In the case of Waze, the cost is your privacy to a degree I can’t abide.

They’re getting that information from you regardless. Waze just shows you info about yourself that google already has.

Actually, they aren’t. And Waze is using a shit ton of information that is both stolen from and given by users. Google doesn’t know where I am nor how I got there nor the path I took. But if you want to provide your info to them feel free (ironic, wasn’t that?).

If your using a andriod phone and have location services is on, they have all your tracking and movement info already.

See your travels
Timeline will include where you travelled and the way you travelled from place to place, like walking, biking, driving, or public transportation, during the times when you have Location History turned on.

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app

I thought you said you liked Waze but didn’t trust Google, and some people don’t know they’re part of the same universe. All good I understand what you’re saying.
