Great pics!! I'm plotting and scheming my 3rd trip out there. I went to EJS in 2015, then took the JL in October of 18. In October, the weather was perfect and it was not crowded at all, so everything was cheaper. We took the Rimrocker into Moab from Montrose, CO, which was a blast, too!

Nice! Our first trip out we spent time in Montrose as well and would shoot over to Ouray every day.

Great pics and story. Excited for your move. It’s a special place for sure. My wife and I decided we wanted to retire in Durango CO and it’s only 2.5 hrs or so from Moab!

The waterfall is in Toquerville UT over by Sand Hollow which is 5 hours from Moab. If for some reason you get over that way make sure to go in the AM, before lunch and DON'T go on the weekend. I can give more details in a PM if you are heading that way.
It averaged 102 in St. George and around 98 in Moab. It's freaking hot but with 5% humidity it really is not bad. For instance, I'm sitting in Jackson TN right now and it feels like a freaking swamp at 89 degrees and gobs of humidity... 102 felt better.
Keep PLENTY of water on hand and drink it. Cooling towels or a damp rag help keep you comfy, I'd take the scorching heat over the humidity any day. The whole reason we are moving is for my wife's health, the humidity cripples her.

You can't do Toquerville falls without the obligatory drove over the waterfall shot...

Yeah that was a cool pic. We had 4 Jeeps in our group and got behind a group of 14 Jeeps which made for a pretty cool conga line.
LOL, I'm all for busting on angry grills... except that one. Super nice people and the grill has a big emotional tie. She lost her son eight years ago in an off roading accident when he was 12. He loved sharks and that grill and a couple of other things on the Jeep kind of have a shark vibe. So not a peep was said by me because in light of that... I'm down with that angry grill.

Looks like fun! We’ve been to Moab a few times—once for EJS, which was a blast (and I’m a complete introvert). Congratulations on your move. You’re right about the heat in that it’s a lot more tolerable without the humidity.
