I love the idea of you wanting to get into a Rubicon and the 3.6L is great. But you will be disappointed in the Jk after owning a JL. Go buy the JL Rubicon when you can afford it.

so the JL is that much better?
my Brother and my partents both opted for used JK's one has a 15JKU willys and the other has an 18JKU willys. my brothers 18 JKU and my 18JLU are setup pretty close other than i can the 6speed manual and hes got the 5 speed both have 35" tires. I tend to avg. 3-5mpg better on the hwy than the JKU. plus the jlu is much more stable to drive than the JK's. I personally find the JK's has a significant amount of body roll that my jlu doesnt have

with you being in Canada your limited slip in the Willys is much better than Lockers for daily driving in the snow than e-lockers will be. You could save some cash and always get some rubicon axles put into your jeep. I installed a set into my sport last winter myself in the driveway took me two afternoons and about 5K for the axles with shipping. was a quick easy install

For that much money, if you want a rubicon, get a JL rubicon. I have owned every model year of a wrangler and the JL is the best suited for daily driving. The JK is a very good Jeep, but I think you would regret going back in time, unless its a 2nd or 3rd vehicle for you.
