I can’t get this Rubicon off my mind…..

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks...pine-stereo-system-wash-out-interior/m2015891

really like the whole look package and would gain Dana 44s with front and rear lockers, along with metal front and rear bumpers. Will this retain its resale value because of the Rubicon package and brand more so then Willy’s? Am i crazy to be wanting to trade my 2020 Jeep Willy’s 2L turbo for the 2018 Jeep rubicon with 3.6L?

here’s my current Jeep Willy’s….

Other then newer 8-speed auto vs JKs 5-speed trans, better gas mileage with my Willy’s, less mileage only currently have 15000 miles on it, installed a bestop canvas top. What would i regret and downsides of swapping out with this 2018 JK model vs JL?

I owned several JKs: they were great but I wouldn’t go back.

JL’s level of comfort, refinement, capability, fit and finish, power and efficiency are so much better.

It looks like a Rubicon Recon which also has thicker axle tubes and .5” more lift. It’s a nice Jeep.

Test drive it first, if you can. If you haven’t owned a JK before, you will find it to be quite different than the JL.

I much prefer the way a JL drives and rides. Especially the 8 speed. And my fuel mileage is significantly better with the JL.

I really like your Willys, but I am biased (look at my avatar). As far as looks? That’s subjective. Park them side by side and the make your decision. Where will you get to take advantage of the Rubicon Recon’s capabilities anywhere near Winnipeg?

My last JK was a 2018 Unlimited Rubicon Recon: it had atrocious body panel alignment, an annoying rattle coming from the A-pillar and a squeaky driver seat that drove me bonkers. I dumped it with 8,000 miles after the local dealer refused to fix any of it under warranty.

By contrast, my JL Sahara has immaculate assembly quality, excellent paint finish, no squeaks or rattles, and has been absolutely trouble free.

Factoid: my JL Sahara came from the factory with as much ground clearance as that JK Recon; the much smoother V6, more responsive 8-speed auto and the convenient Selec-Trac are all icing on the cake.

Seems steep priced to me. Current used prices have crashed a bit. 49k for a good JLR new in my area USD. The 5 speed auto is not as good as the new 8.

Hey we’re like Twins 😂😂
How you know about Winnipeg landscape? Ex Pegger?

actually it’s quite flat here yeah but that changes if you head east 2 hours into Ontario, into cottage country or northwest part of the province

Nah, my wife has family in Minnesota and South Dakota. Close enough for me. I’d like to drive up there some day, then go over to Great Slave Lake, Yellowknife and on up to the Arctic Ocean. Maybe one day when the border opens again.

Besides, that JK will never look as good in the snow as this

I really got the itch before 7 years though. This 2018 is absolutely mint like new. But the way I think this model is geared and the 3.6 it’s going to be another story for fuel mileage compared to the JL

No doubt. My 3.6/8 speed JL consistently averages about 21 MPG (11.2 l/100km). That 2018 Rubicon Recon will see about 16 MPG (14.7 l/100km) on average. How much is gasoline there?

5.25 a gallon. Most Americans would give up their vehicles if they lived here😂😂
