How is the durability of MP3022 transfer case given the power and torque from the 392? Isn't it the same unit in Jeep Liberty?

Not everyone needs or wants full time 4WD. It may be desirable to have RockTrac as an option.
Lock up on pavement, unlocks in sand and snow. Error code after error code. Dealer can’t fix because they cannot duplicate problem. I just want a simple rocktrc 4:1 case, not this “upgrade” To be honest it’s just a budget alternative to Toreson center differential to achieve awd.

Back to dealer for the 3rd time. It was puking fluid on my garage floor, The front output shaft is leaking. Is the tech test drive on pavement using 4h?

If the honeymoon is over, sell it. You didn't marry it, it's a vehicle.
I got a 4Runner at home, no drama whatsoever the most boring vehicle ever but no issues at all. The 392 wrangler on the other hand is like the spiciest prostitute on you lap.

I really like mine but I have to admit I still like my ecodiesel better. The range just kinda sucks. If I do keep it long term I'll swap the gas tank for sure. But otherwise, it's great.

Not sure why it is “overrated”.

Not sure what isn’t overpriced these days. To me that is why a 75k Jeep, what MSRP was when I bought mine, isn’t much more than something else. For all the options that it is loaded with it is comparable. But for an off road rig it is too expensive for some people to risk damage. To others it is not too expensive to wheel with it.
Love my 2021 JLR on 37's but I'm building a 23 JLUR on 43's. The 392 JLUR is $26K more than the 2.0 T, and I much prefer the turbo. I've owned a 66 chevy 1/2 ton with a 400 small block that would blow the doors off a 392. I get it, HP is fun. There was a huge loose dirt hill that my 66 chevy was the only 4 WD that could make it to the top, that's because I could spin my sand paddles fast enough they acted like propellers. HP is a huge advantage in loose dirt or sand. But given that's' 2% of my wheeling, I much prefer the 2.0 T with the 4:1 xfer case. I've got a 72 big block corvette that I used to auto cross, so the 392 brick is a joke compared to the vett.

But with all my 392 haterness, I've been looking for a used JLUR on tons/40's for the last 18 months. 10 out of 10 of them had 392's or worse, blown sixes. That tells me if I'm going to put DSTRA 70's and 43's on my JLUR, if I ever want to sell it, it will be much easier to sell with a 392.

But the 40 spline D70's are $15K and the 392 is $26K.

To me it is a Jeep that I use for places my diesel truck can’t go. A 1-ton truck that can haul loads I carry is $100k+ similarly equipped to a 392. So that is pretty “over-priced” also ;).
I'm looking at ordering a new F-600 4x4 to carry my JLUR and tow a trailer, and it's only $55K. BTW, I'm also a diesel hater.

I came from a different background. First I'm relatively young, still in my 30s and I've had 7 vehicles in the past. Never did any off-roading. Just daily driver and have some street fun. The 392 XR is the best looking vehicle so far and it's my first Naturally Aspirated V8. It's also the first one that I started with mods.

My little son loves monster trucks, and I view my Jeep 392 as a mini monster truck (even better with bigger tires) to get him excited. He's proud of the rig and tells his pre-school friends it's very loud. Being unique and cool is my lifestyle, and this 392 is one of the contributing factors. On the other hand, I feel lucky that so far I haven't had any noticeable issues and I've doing the oil change/tire rotation all by myself. I've learned so much in the past year. And possibly the 2021 model being the first release, some of the issues may have been addressed in the 2022 or 2023 models (not sure about this actually, except the steel oil pan in later models).

Unlike most of other car owners, I never call mine "Her", I call it "It". I view any vehicles as "It" and it's a machine. I enjoy the little things while I can. And if there's any issues down the road, I'll try to fix it or use the extended warranty.

I was considering to buy a CT5-V BLACKWING at one point, then the Jeep392 won. In the end, it's more practical and badass.

Interseting, that is what I was shopping as well manual 5BW. I also was looking at 4pot manual Bronco and G80 M3 manual.
I actually also looked into BMW M5 CS. Total beast but much higher price tag.

I came real close to buying a 392, and was able to talk myself out of it. By all accounts I think it sounds awesome and the speed is alluring. Ultimately I don't think this motor should be in a jeep wrangler at all. I think it fits a niche for folks who would never want to offroad it, and even though it is capable offroad, I feel like the motor does become a hinderance in some instances.
On road it eats gas like a 392 should. Put it all together and it is a lot of money for something that ultimately just becomes a niche vehicle (Even more so than a jeep already is). I think over time most folks will get over the excitement of the motor, and then you're left with what to do with it now.
THIS!

My perspective is probably wayyy off, but I always believed that people who bought the 392 would almost entirely keep it on the streets. I don't see the 392 even as a daily commuter tbh...I see it as a weekend street machine/toy. Because it costs so much, I also believed that folks surely wouldn't buy it for off-roading purposes? However, I can see that maybe I'm wrong.

I've been all over the 392 forums bc I love the thought of the 392 being in a wrangler. I'm quite surprised at how many folks actually off-road them, even though the capability is definitely there.
