The Wrangler name

Does anybody else dislike or hate the name wrangler? Ive had 4 of them now and have always hated the name. Reminds me of jeans. Honestly i wish they were just called jeep or willys in honor of the original.

Because I’ve had different generations, we refer to it as the model designation amongst friends. Except for the yj, which was affectionately called a Wrongler. My wife and daughter don’t care and it’s just the Jeep.

Looks like the jeans came before the jeep. About 40 yrs before jeep used the name.

Even the tires had the Wrangler name first. After a lawsuit because of it- guess what the default tires are on them...

But we just say “Jeep” and if someone questions, it’s “Jeep Jeep” and those who have one- we say “a JL”.

I use "Jeep" or model code (eg: TJ, JK, etc). I've had a Jeep for 18 yrs and have probably called it a "Wrangler" 8 times..... usually if someone says "Which one?"

The lawsuit was never actually resolved, there was turnover of leadership at goodyear and the new guy said it was frivolous.
