@TrailSnail Good luck with the mods. I checked those spring part numbers and they are the upgraded units.

Wasn't it a bit warm to be outside removing bumpers last night? ;)

Yeah, but the mosquitos bothered me a lot more than the heat did! 🦟 🦟🦟 🦟

ughhh.....that sucks.
Wasn't nearly as bad as it was 2 weeks ago, but they're still out for blood. My house is near farms and fields so they're pretty bad in my area still.

Just a heads up for anyone else who may get caught in the same trap, Diode Dynamics won't offer after-sale support (despite what they tell you on the phone) if you've purchased anywhere other than their website. I purchased from an authorized retailer and even contacted them by phone before and after the sale and was assured that I'd be taken care of, but when I requested an exchange for one set of brackets for another to make the SS3 kit work with my Arcus bumper, I was basically told to pay $50 + tax and shipping or pound sand.

Update: Luckily for me, the retailer CAK Electronics is taking care of me. It really wasn't on the distributor to handle it, but I'm grateful that they did.

In other news, things continue to escalate in the Trail Snail garage with the arrival of (some of) the tires, Rock Hard skids and some other bits and pieces.

What tires did you get?
These are the Kenda 35X10.50R17 D-rated R/Ts I drunkenly purchased. I think they'll work well once the supporting mods are done to get them shoehorned under there.

Liners are out and the fenders are ready to be chopped:

The CavFab bumper also arrived. I got it cleaned up and painted before a storm hit. Once mounted I realized A) the factory spare will no longer fit and B) the trailer wiring was going to have to go somewhere else. I was able to re-use the rather beefy factory bracket, widen the mounting points for the 18mm trailer hitch receiver, and re-mount it up high while remaining accessible.

Finally, more stuff arrived and my LCA skids magically turned red:

I went back and forth between this size and the 12.5. I decided on the 12.5, but very curious to see how these look. Nice build!

Thanks! Me too, I've never had pizza cutters before so this is uncharted territory. I'm hoping with stock (chopped) fenders and stock wheels they'll look almost OEM-ish.

Speaking of which, more progress was made over the weekend. I only have an hour or two at a time to work on it but it's getting there. The fronts are nearly done, I just have a little bit more sanding left to do. I'm hoping to tackle the rear this afternoon.

The Paramount plastic liners look awesome also.

Hi Josh, You can't go wrong with the Kenda tire brand. I have used everything from the Big Blocks to the K760 on my Beta and KTM300. I'm confident the 4 wheel tires are every bit as good.

I'm enjoying your build. It's coming along nicely.

Thanks for the feedback and following along, glad you're enjoying it! I'm excited to get the Kendas mounted up.
