I had my brother install mine yesterday but haven't heard any creaks yet.

Do you guys that have one always use the securing straps that come with it? My only grumble about it is that they are not secured to the top so they have to be dug out every time it's opened.

I have never once used the straps, and never felt they were needed.

Okay, good to know. I was just worried going 70+ down the freeway might be strong enough to have it start closing if it wasn't secured.

Never used them on my JK and haven’t used them on my JL either.

Same here. I've hit 90mph briefly with the JL open and there was no issue.

I don't think l got any straps. Anyhow l would never have it open at speed.

I‘ve had mine open on the back roads and also at highway speeds of 70 with no straps and no issues, I believe Bestop states that they are to used when off-roading.

The only way Sunrider can close itself without strap, is either you go backwards at 70 mph, or you are braking really hard almost like smash into something.

In either case, the Sunrider is your least concern.

This is a comical mental image.

Totally agree though, I've come closer to flipping over forward than I have to having my Sunrider close on me :)

No, it will not.. Works with an Alien or a shade that mounts under the sound bar like that.
What is it about the shade that interferes with the top? I have a full length spiderwebshade and I would really like to get the Sunrider. I supposed I can buy the short one just for the cab to keep on when I'm using the hard top.
