Allow me to preface this by saying I don't work for Rusty's, I'm not sponsored by them, nor do I have any affiliation with them. Like many of you, I want my dollar to go as far as it can and I think Rusty's offers high quality products made in the USA at an affordable cost. I'm quite surprised I don't see them suggested more often when they have rocker/slider products that fit most desires. If you're not familiar with them, check them out.

Rusty's Rubicon Style Rocker Armor - 2018 and Later JL Wrangler 4-Door
Like a factory Rubicon rail that's built stronger and mounts to the frame.

I picked up a set of their sliders just before Thanksgiving and I'm more than impressed with the quality of these. BEEFY is an understatement! I can't wait to hit the trail with these.

I love the look of them, I may go this route down the road. Thanks for the pics.

I’m seriously looking in to these.
For the ones who’ve installed these, how difficult was the install. Is it necessary to use the 6 extra bolts that you have to drill out for? Thanks!

Drilling out for the extra bolts is optional and honestly I wouldn't worry since their products are bolted to the frame with the body bolts. If you're planning on doing the work yourself, just be careful getting the front body bolts out. I had one cross threaded that had to be drilled out.

Just picked up a set of these brand new never installed for 200$!! But I’m spooked on the install with everyone breaking the body mount bolts, is this pretty prevalent? Is heat the solution? Sorry contemplating just having a shop do it but I’m kinda annoyed to pay some one to take out 6 bolts

Any chance you could post some pics from the side to show a better look at your set up? I'm considering doing the exact same thing and am curious what those entry guards will look like installed. Thanks!

There's a 30+ page thread on this forum about broken body bolts and you'll find different answers. Broken body bolts seem to be common in the JL's, many come from the factory over torqued and cross threaded. I suggest reading the thread and draw your own conclusions as it's about a 50/50 on bolts breaking with and without the use of heat. My local offroad shop that fixed my broken body bolt told me they never use heat, just a 1/2" impact.

Yeah thinking about taking it to a dealer and letting them handle it, they want 200$ but that maybe worth no drama

I tried it myself with the help of a buddy who successfully removed the body bolts on his own jeep without breaking. We used the exact same method he did, plenty of heat, and I still sheared a bolt.
