Did you guys see the pictures of the JLU that managed to run through a crowd of protesters in Denver, CO? The Jeep Wrangler JLU takes a licking and still keeps ticking!

It was Aurora. As I understand it protesters went out onto the interstate and they had several vehicles in their group driving slowly behind them to block traffic. Another small group had blocked the onramp to the interstate. Bikini JLU wasn't having that, hopped the curb and went around the people blocking the protesters. At least one protester began to chase the Jeep down the interstate on their sport bike. As the Jeep approached the protest and went to pass the blocking vehicles, the blocking vehicle (F-150?) rammed the Jeep pushing it into the jersey barrier. That is where the driver side flat tire and fender damage came from. After that details seem to get a bit muddy. Some reports say protesters began running toward the Jeep (which had been being chased and was just rammed) so the driver accelerated. Other reports say the protesters were running away and the Jeep driver in a fit of rage was trying to run them over. Either way, the video shows the crowd splitting as the Jeep drives straight down the interstate. A protester shot 6 rounds at the Jeep, apparently aiming for the tires. 2 protesters were hit by the gunfire, I believe ricochets. One in the leg, one in the head. Both survived, the shooter has been charged with 4 counts of attempted murder. Last thing I saw is they have not yet charged the Jeep driver, even though he was contacted at the scene by officers. It's my understanding that the Jeep was impounded and the driver given a ride to the airport (which was his destination before all this). The driver of the Jeep has been identified on the subreddit /r/denverprotests and in the media. Even if not charged I am sure he will be facing some repercussions for his actions.

Just the first video I found that doesn't have commentary over the top of the audio. Despite the edit of the video, the person on the ground being attended to by protest medics was not hit by the Jeep, but rather hit by the fellow protester's gunfire. The objects flying off/around the Jeep are shields and such that the protesters were throwing at the Jeep.

EDITED TO STRIKE OUT SOME THINGS I HAD WRONG

Police need to stop this crap on the interstates, protestors need to be dealt with, guy minding his own business needs to travel and these idiots think they have the right to shutdown a highway.

Whomever shot at the Jeep needs some jail time,

Need a new badge for running over these idiots.

The right to peacefully protest exists, not on public streets, roads and highways! And these morons are anything but peaceful! And with law enforcement allowing it or having their hands tied by communist government is making matters worse.

People will have enough and start policing themselves. This crap needs to be shut down immediately.

Weak, liberal politicians are keeping police from doing anything about the protesters/rioters in most cities even taking away every means they have for crowd control. Look at the idiot mayors of Seattle and Portland allowing the takeover of city blocks then complain when Homeland Security is sent in to break it up.

If you guys don’t like protesters, just wait for a few more millions to lose their jobs, for unemployment benefits and eviction moratoriums to expire at the end of this week, and for millions of Americans to lose their homes.

“Protecting buildings” will soon seem the least of our worries.

who said it was political, commenting on people breaking the law. not one person said they should not protest, but they dont have the right to block streets and intimidate people trying to go about their business.

and it was Jeep related since the poor guy driving has his Jeep vandalized.

Not saying what the Jeep driver did wasn’t dangerous it was and it’s not something I would have done. But then there are these “peaceful protesters” for inequity and defunding the police, yet they are carrying loaded GUNS and shoot at a moving vehicle, hit innocent bystanders with their poorly placed shots(which they chastise police for doing). Oh and then run to the police for help, demand the arrest of the driver who was rammed then shot at by them and can’t believe it when the shooter is arrested for the very thing (misuses of force) they want police jailed for.

The drive of the Jeep did not hit anyone and was in his right to use the freeway that like in most states has signs prohibiting pedestrians from being on the freeway. Pedestrian right of way is NOT infinite and has limitations. A freeway is one of them regardless of “peacefully protesting”.

Can we keep this forum apolitical? Jeep owners span every political party, race, gender, ethnicity, religion, etc. Let's keep this forum welcome to all of them.
it should have been posted to the Lounge area of the forum where political and other off-topic discussions may exist.

as a side note, from the posts here one could fairly confidently guess as to which side of the political spectrum the poster belongs to.

The protesting public needs to go home.

If they want to live in a civilized society, they need to start behaving like one. Public gatherings of angry people with mob mentality are dangerous. All it takes is one person to discharge a deadly weapon and bystanders get hurt or even KILLED.

The old saying goes the pen is mightier than the sword - it’s still true today.

What happened to sending letters to elected officials from the local to the state level? Gathering signatures to petition for specific means of change and concrete measures of reform? Using social media to be a prosocial voice for change?
