Installed the Vector Offroad Mount today.

My Ipad holder didn't connect well because of the different angles so we had to order a different ram mount for that

Here is the outcome. Just a cell phone holder and dash camera right now.

Please ignore the stupid way I hold the webbing on it. I just didn't want to lose it :p

We need to figure out how we're going to mount the spare tire right now but haven't been a whole lot of thought in considering I've been working. Need to give the Jeep a full test drive too with the new wheels/tires to see how she feels. The 37s do look really good and I'm happy with the choice. I'm sure my MPG is gonna tank and stuff but oh well, it's a jeep! ha
Looks good. Where did you get the tires from? Who sells them. Does it hit 8th gear on the highway?

We recalibrated with the taser lite to adjust for the spedo issues. It will hit 8th gear but not very often. It mainly sits in 6th or 7th gear.

We bought the tires and wheels from America’s Tire. It’s essentially discount tire.

Installed the Motobilt Differential Covers today. We painted them yellow to match the Jeep and painted the bolts red just for some fun. Overall, it turned out okay. The paint did not adhere super great to the metal so there are a few blemishes but they're going over rocks anyways so who cares :D

When putting the oil in, we only got about 1.8 quarts before it started overflowing. I know it is supposed to have 2 quarts per so hopefully it's not a huge problem. Can always open it back up, shove some oil in, and close it quickly if we need to. Hopefully someone will have an opinion about this!

The Jeep looks great, I know we have some big fans of yellow over here!! We really love the 37 or 38" tire paired with the 3.5" and have been running that since the lift was installed. We have drove to Moab from Northern California and the fuel mileage is way better than in the JK with the new 8 speed transmission! Plus with the Rubicon you have a way easier time running 37s with the wider axle, you can use a wheel with 4.5" of backspace and be good to go. Here is ours with 38s, it does have our Overland Fenders which open them up a little bit compared to yours.

Did you re-gear with the 38's?

Installed the Metalcloak skid plates today and added a photo of the rear dif cover from yesterdays project. We still have to install the steering stabilizer relocation bracket and a rear dif skid cover but ran out of time forgot it gets dark at 3pm now lol!

The Jeep is still running the factory gears and the 8 speed auto is making them still feel great!

nice build, I have a 2019 JLUR in Hella yella on order, I am currently looking at a couple different lifts, I want to go 37's but stay with the stock rims, do you know with the metal cloak 3.5 lift could you have used the stock rims with no spacers? Did you have to change the front driveline?

We ran the stock tires with the Metalcloak lift for a few days. There was rubbing when you fully turned the vehicle. When we wanted to upgrade to 37s, I was told the stock rims wouldn't hold the 37s. The spacing is different. I imagine if you use spacers you could do it. By that time, I just took the opportunity to select some different wheels that I knew would work 100%.

We didn't upgrade our drive shaft when we did this. If it gets damaged due to the lift we'll upgrade. However, we don't think it will get damaged because we don't wheel as hard as other people. All in due time though I suppose.

So not much has changed with our build recently. We're pretty much "done" minus a few things here and there. We're still waiting on the gobi rack but thankfully we've gotten the opportunity to do some trips with the Jeep finally! Here are the most recent pictures!

The only things left that we're waiting on are some Ace Rock Sliders and the Gobi Rack. We'll see when they arrive!

By the picture it looks like you use the original drive shaft with the Metalcloak 3.5" lift? Did you have any issues with the driveshaft touching the exhaust pipe?

Hi. No issues with the driveshaft yet. If we do end up rubbing and messing it up we’ll replace it. I didn’t want to shelve our to cost when we got the lift and tires though because it was already a lot of money.

Has there been any rattling from yours? Mine does on washboard type ruts. I believe it's the hard plastic shims? that slide into the aluminum frame.. not sure how to resolve

Our Vector mount doesn't rattle or anything while in use. I tightened everything down pretty well minus the two screws because I was afraid I was going to strip them that secure to the center console thing.

Have you tried making sure all the screws are secured? If so maybe take the thing all the way out and test the pieces?
