Well I'm very excited I get to be a part of this forum now finally picking up the JL last week! We traded in our 2017 JKU Chief Edition to get our 2018 Hella Yella Rubicon. Our first initial thoughts once driving it the 1000 miles back to our residence was "AMAZING!!!" It feels so much better than our old Chief and has every single option we ever wanted. Custom ordering was the best idea ever made! Ha.

Our build will be pretty basic and straight forward. Here is what we have planned:
3.5 Inch Metalcloak Gamechanger with Rock Sport Shocks
Metalcloak Under Armor
Motobilt dif covers (or another brand depending on what's coming out)
ARB Dual Twin Compressor (have to find a way to mount this thing still)
35 Inch Tires with Beadlocked Wheels (undecided still on brand etc)
Gobi Rack with Smittybilt Overlander RTT. (I'm sure the gobi will be stuck on order for the next 6-9 months lol)
Go Rhino Front and Rear Bumpers with LED's
Canvasback Cargo Liner with Side walls
Some little small cosmetic things here and there.

Overall, the plan for our build will be with a semi rock crawler with overlanding capabilities. We have aspirations to do all the fun trails in California but be able to sustain in our Jeep for about 3-5 days at a time if needed. We also need a little room so our German Shepard can go with us :)

We picked up the Jeep on 9/26/18 from Peterson in Nampa Idaho. Got a super good deal and an adequate trade in for the Chief. Here she is shortly after purchase:

We made it 240 miles before our first experience :) A nice quarter size crack in the windshield:

We drove for a super long time as we were heading back to California!

With a quick pitstop down the California Coast!

Right as we were arriving home we already hit the first 1000 miles:

Nice rig! Looking forward to seeing more. Damn, that sucks about the crack at 240 miles!

Once we got home it was time to get to work on some small stuff :)

The first thing we did was install the Mopar Decal. My boyfriend and I really liked it and thought it was unique! Here are some before and after photographs:

Next up on our list was some easy stuff, just the all weather floor mats. I opened up my box installed the front and then noticed I had 2 door floor mats in the back. Well shoot, time to hopefully get this sorted out with Quadratec! :)

Thanks! I called my glass man who filled it for me. Still visible but hopefully won't spread. I'll replace it if I get any more cracks probably lol

Very nice.

Long drive and im glad everything went smoothly. Besides the crack,,but that was going to happen sooner than later.

Last year i replaced my windshield because of chips and a large crack and 2 weeks after that a large rock hit the passenger side of the new windshield and it cracked all the way across. Way worse than before:cwl:.

Enjoy the new rubicon and all that the future holds:fist bump:

Working 70 hours a week right now so haven't had time to commit to installing the lift yet. However, we did install the front bumper recently. We still need to install the winch rope but that should only take a second :) Here's the outcome. Wish the D-Rings matched a little better I took a gamble with them :p

That's the Go Rhino Front Stubby bumper with a quadratec j3 17 inch light bar. Lastly, we added the Cascadia flipster v2 for the license plate.

Our rear bumper is also the Go Rhino Rear Stubby bumper with some aftermarket led lights that are spliced into the rear reverse lights.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks!!
