I just chatted with Jeep Chat and Ankur told me the soft tops are back ordered until April. I asked if she was sure and she said yes. That could mean a possible late April or May delivery. Not crazy about that.
I'll give it until Friday to make a decision. Let's see what we hear in the meantime. We know that some vehicles have made it through JB to KZ. So I assume soft tops are coming in, just not enough to meet the full demand. If so, there would be delays through April, but hopefully older orders get served first :fingerscrossed:

I purchased from Koons and Craig said they would have jeep pay the cost to ship the soft top to me in NC once it arrives. Given the situation, its about the best outcome. My jeep officially shipped today and should be here sometime next week!
Wow! That’s great for you! I’m hoping that the other dealers follow suit :)

Last i heard we were all caught up on the JL soft tops, no backorder. Let me check with our Director of Aftermarket and see if he knows any other details. I will have an update this week!
I don't think we are talking the same thing here - She said let me check with Director of Aftermarket. That would imply she is talking about tops ordered by Aftermarket suppliers or personal orders, not OEM orders.

Possibly, but she's also mentioned them not being able to sell any aftermarket tops for a certain number of months after the new release and if that's true it brings us back to oem tops.

Who knows. I can keep guessing at what’s going on, but I’ll likely be wrong. Doesn’t make sense that several of us are getting calls from our dealers asking if we want to take delivery without the soft top if Besttop is caught up.

Yeah probably a big difference between what I want to be true just because I want my jeep and what's really accurate.

This is all so frustrating. Why is it so hard to get a straight answer on this?

Again I’ll ask do you think we have to worry about where all these unfinished JLs are being stored?

I think they’re obviously sitting outside in some giant lot. But my thinking is how and where because this is an excess of vehicles that are somewhere that they shouldn’t be because of a back up. And I did see this before but are we going to be finished in order Of the way we went in.

Who the heck knows how they’ll be processed. It would be fantastic if Jeep could give us a straight answer given the fact that we’ve been given different time lines from Mid-March to April for the soft tops. So, if they are in a huge lot, at least they have their hard tops?

I have a feeling or at least I’m hoping that the people that are getting mid April information are the ones built after us. In my opinion there has to be a filtration of tops coming in weekly, you see people getting their vehicles daily. I don’t think they’re just waiting for this one giant delivery of tops. Now this is my hope.

They are sitting outside in the red highlighted area. There is no way there is enough room to store them inside. I am sure they have some type of system for first in and first out but I am also guessing that this system can get screwed up and people's order might get rearranged. The fact that they can't ship the Jeep and then ship the top later in another Jeep sent to the dealer is really short sighted and poor customer service in my opinion, but oh well.

Thanks for that post. Again, I cannot see them sending without a top and ship later.
