I posted earlier about having ordered the Smittybilt Stryker. It's installed, and here's what I think. Keep in mind I'm a noob having gone seriously off road only twice now.

I bought it for the features and style, although there are others somewhat similar. A stubby, which I can make wider if I want, that retains Rubicon LED fog lights, not too heavy, a recessed winch, and mount points for lights is what I wanted, and now I am also glad it has a skid plate.

The unboxing could have been better - the packaging had fallen apart, and part of the upper guard stinger/light bar required sanding off a chip and sliver of metal coming off plus repainting (I just used Krylon corrosion-resistant black spray paint, same as I have used on my hitches). Also, the instructions were OK, but they left out exactly what screws to use how (I have some left over...; most are for the wings I don't have but not all) and where plus the JL spacer plates were never mentioned - I found out what those were when I had to uninstall and reinstall the whole thing since it otherwise hits the JL front grille. My 2018 JL Rubicon with plastic bumper didn't have exactly the same configuration, so fog light removal took a bit more work in that bumper (on Stryker routed the factory wires up through the light bar mount area to stay away from the winch; did no splicing) and I had to make the lower skid plate bar fit on the frame where there wasn't a threaded hole (just used the bolts and wrenched them from the hole in the frame; the skid plate also required some slight drilling on 2 holes at the bottom to make them line up). In the end though, the gripes are all fairly minor but it took much longer to do than it should have.

The winch plate is sturdy, and holds my Smittybilt X20 10k lb synthetic nicely although room for wires is tight. I did have to move the position of and reconnect the winch wires to make it fit. My winch cover stays put well too. The rest of the bumper is quite light weight steel, except for the skid plate (which is a good thing). I have not added a single row LED light bar yet, but will be measuring for that soon to fit in the small tabs. I do like the look, and it doesn't stick out too far. I was originally concerned it seemed to have a slight downward angle when I installed it, but it seems fine. See the pictures of it installed, before spooling the winch, and a side view (sorry, it wasn't just a bumper focus pic) after getting it dirty. Off road it held up great including at 30 degree pitch at the bottom of a hill, and the mount was sturdy when I spooled the winch with my car in neutral (sorry, my JL didn't get stuck like others to really use the winch). The skid plate took a few serious rocks, and I'm not seeing any issues.

Smittybilt, fix your packaging and instructions, but otherwise I really like it!

What license plate/camera/brake light combo do you have?
Poison Spyder. It comes with the Tire Carrier. I am going to make a full install video for it. Still need to finish editing it.

 I like symmetry, but have not liked the plate being on the spare, but they've put them towards the top of the spare. How you have yours looks great. If the camera has no visibility issues w/ the running it like this, I may go this route.

Yeah I have no issues with the camera being blocked. It works great. I'll be sure to show it in the video I am editing. My camera screen view.

Not sure if this has already been covered but what is the best after market rear bumper that works with the backup sensors and has bright backup LED lights?

Has anyone mounted a Smittybilt XRC gen2 front bumper (JK version) on their JL? I have a NIB JK one in my garage and was wondering how much modification or fabrication might be involved. I would give it a go and find out for myself if only my JLUR would be delivered.......
did you ever find out if it fits ? im in the same boat

Was searching through here and didn't see it, but maybe I missed it, sorry if I did, but...

Does anyone have the Smittybilt SRC Gen2 front and/or rear bumpers? (and the side armor too?) I'm thinking about getting them, but I'd love to see some personal rides with them installed or get some firsthand opinions. Thanks.

Just installed the EAG stubby front bumper. The factory LED foglights fit right into the housings, no adapters needed (I think it's needed for the halogens though). Very easy install, hardest part was taking off the old and transferring the fog lights.

Very pleased with the look and esp the price. Will let you know as time goes by as to the durability.

I picked up a Smittybilt XRC GEN2 Front Bumper this past weekend for a really good price because it had a couple of scratches. What would be the best way to repair the scratches in the powder coating, so it does not rust? TIA
