Who buys a hemi for the gas mileage.
I didn't think gas mileage entered into the buying equation.
I saw a TRX at my dealer the other day and all I wanted to know was the price
It was 94k, the wife who was with me said no.

No one buys them for gas mileage but Jeep buyers purchase wranglers to go offroading and i sure as hell dont want to worry about range if i get 10 MPG. Its Having better mileage means i can get to the trail head without having to carry multiple jerry cans.

Very happy to see this.

It’s not about the price/cost of gas. It’s about range anxiety and how often you have to take time out of your day to stop at a gas station.

part of that is likely that you can basically run on fumes all the way from Eisenhower tunnel to Golden. Gas sensors also get wonky on that leg of the trip depending on where they are placed in the fuel tank as you're constantly nose down the entire way and typically show more gas than you actually have.

Precisely! I’m looking to get a 392 next model year (hopefully in Punk’n like my 18 Sport S) and I’m about 60 miles from Rausch Creek and AOAA wondering if was gonna burn a full tank there and back on the trails if I only get 13mpg with 37’s on it. So this is nice to see

Its called an “annulment”. Both the State of Maine and the Federal Government allow for it ;)

Not bad for a 6.4L, cylinder deactivation is a cool feature especially with brick on wheels

Honestly, I'm impressed.
I've argued before that the poor mileage was an issue since it greatly shortens range when overlanding. I guess that argument is out the window.

This is not surprising, HEMI usually doing well on highway, it is at their sweet spot of power band.

As with my 5.7 Hemi TJ, looks like the Hemi does better than the 6cyl.
I gained 1-1.5 over the 4.0 inline 6 in the TJ. They got 19 with mountain passes. I get 17-18 freeway only with the 3.6 V-6 and no mountain pass.
