If they kept the same length LCA’s on the even taller 392, then it is safe to say that the 392 will have an even lower caster angle than the regular Rubicon.
Unless the axle has more caster built in... then the 392 might be in the acceptable range. Also I think I remembered reading that the upper control arms are different, which could also effect caster.

We spent all day Sunday test fitting and swapping tires to try out 35's, 37's and 40's on our stock Wrangler 392! It was a long day, but definitely worth it to be able to see all 3 sizes on the 392 to help us decide what size tires to order for it. What size would you go with?

I have a dumb question...does the 392 have more clearance than a 2020 JLUR? I'm wondering if I will have problems with 37"x12.5" on stock rims on stock ruby?

Yes, the 392 has more clearance. 35’s fit the JLUR with no lift but 37’s need a lift.

37's also fit on a stock JLURD.

I was able to flex fully with the 37s on Nomads with only a slight rub on a front fender lip. Could turn too.

Do the diesels have a different bump stop?

There's a difference between fitting and "fitting". It has documented many times on this forum that some 35s rub at full bump on stock suspension, and I assume that means all 37s too.

No lift. Wheeled it a few times like that on milder stuff but it still got to flex. Minimal rub anywhere and only at full flex, even when turning.

It does sit a higher than gas JLURs. Not sure if the bumpstops are different, but I was wondering that too. I think I remember hearing the 392 needed the slight lift to clear the oil pan or something. I'd guess the diesel is for similar reasons.

Don't want to hijack the 392 thread. Awesome to get 40s under it without a lift! That'll keep your CoG low. Biggest reasons for a lift in my mind are to help the breakover angle, and to add more up-travel to the suspension.

I was under the impression that the 392 used the Mopar 2” lift, but I was corrected yesterday. I was informed that it’s essentially just taller springs to increase ride height. I measured the lower control arms at 24” which is apparently the same as the JLUR. I believe the 392 wheels have the same offset as the JLUR wheels but I haven’t measured to confirm.

I’m hoping to get my JLUR and the 392 up on a lift side by side soon to try to compare the workings.
It was in another one of your threads you mentioned this, but have you gotten around to installing 37's on the stock wheels yet? Can't wait to see the out come on the 392. Thanks for the videos you have posted, I've watch both multiple time; much apricated!

Yes, we installed the Nitto Ridge Grapplers (37x12.5x17) on the factory wheels over the weekend and they fit! There is some slight rubbing with a tight turn, but it's not something that bothers me. I have yet to test out the flex yet, I am hoping to go over everything in a video this weekend. Also, remember that the 37's won't fit on the back for the spare without a different tire carrier. We have the Rusty's Tire Carrier coming any day now.

Will 35's fit on the stock 392 carrier? I have the reinforced tailgate option, if that matters.

they should. I think any JL with the steel bumpers can carry up to 35s without modifications.
