Terrible Radio Reception

Update...I have not heard the issue arise again, however, my wife was driving it on Saturday and said it is not fixed. Back to the drawing board...once I hear it for myself :)

There has to be some simple module we could buy/attach to get better FM/AM reception.
I'm dreading when our free Sirius 1yr membership ends.

Thanks for the info. Dealer said they would have to start taking it apart to diagnose. The fm radio either works or it doesn't, when it doesn't, it seeks through the entire radio range as if there is not antenna then lands on the one station where the tower is 1/4 mile behind my house. sometimes after several minutes it gets reception and then I get every station. The sat radio spins looking for signal.
This is the same thing that happens to mine- it is either great or horrid- no in between. It was not working well yesterday so I switch back between AM and FM and poof it was working again. Next time it happens I will test that out again. Not ideal solution by any stretch but if it work then I am good. But that lends me to believe that it is more an issue with the 7" radio rather than any of the components that are plugged into it.

I have the same issue on am and fm. Terrible reception. My other cars, no problem. Some days I can turn the volume all the way up and barely hear it. Not good!

I have not taken it in yet, however, when it happened again over the weekend (issue is intermittent) I changed to AM radio and back to FM and it started working. My issue was the volume going up and down as if it is bouncing between HD and non-HD signal. I will try it the next few times it happens and let u know. I also have not had time to take it back to the dealer yet....

Same issue here, but I don't even get the little HD Radio signal anymore. Reception and sound used to be great. Now, 3 months later, formerly "strong" stations barely come in at all. I'll try the suggestions in this thread and see what happens.

This is clearly an issue with the software or a relay in the radio- I will have the dealership look at it when I get my oil change next month but this should be bubbled up higher to have someone at Jeep Corporate create a service bulletin for this.

Since we don't necessarily create the bulletins, the best plan of action is to get a case created and get an official inspection. This is how concerns are tracked.
