So now that I am over 1k miles I am getting 15.5 with out really being all that careful about being conservative, not pushing but not trying desperately to increase mileage.. think if I milked 17 might be possible, I am doing about 70% street 30% highway.. so I scan live with this.. hopefully it keeps getting better
It dropped back too 14

If only I could find a way for every drive to be down a mountain from 10k feet to <1,000 feet elevation. 40 mile trip averaging 70 mpg.

I’m anywhere between 17-19 consistently running premium gas...not sure how some people are getting better, kind wish I got the 3.6 and just run regular..first Jeep so prob wouldn’t notice/care for the difference

I'm getting about 20-21 mpg running regular gas. About 60% highway, but close to 80 miles per hour. I'm getting a few mpgs better than a coworker's rubicon with the 3.6.

My average is just under 22 mpg as per fuelly actual calculations. That is mostly urban driving too. I only use 87 octane in it now.

The non-Rubicon models should get substantially better fuel economy than the Rubicons. 3.45 gears vs 4.10. 2" smaller tires with a street friendly tread pattern (rolling resistance and weights savings). 1.5" narrower axles (less drag due to tires being tucked into the fenders). More aerodynamic bumpers/fenders. They sit lower for better aerodynamics. Add in the fact that a much greater number of Rubicon owners mod their rigs to make these differences even greater. A 2 door sport starts of with a 500+ lb advantage over a stock JLUR. Add aftermarket skids, bigger tires, bumpers, winch, lift, etc and you should expect to get 15-17 vs their 20 plus. It's logical and worth every penny in fuel if you actually wheel your jeep.

Roof top tents really put a hurting on fuel economy. Great for the convenience, but terrible for aerodynamics and center of gravity.

This is a trip to Expo West in May with no RTT. Nobody buys a Rubicon for the fuel economy, am I right?

Definitely didn't buy the rubicon for fuel economy, if I was willing to sacrifice the performance and the center of gravity I'd live with the 20%+ fuel economy hit of the roof top tent. I don't mind tent camping on the ground. Build for your purpose and enjoy, so long as you don't run low profile tires.

I have a 2018 JLUR, 2.0 with stock suspension and tires, steel bumpers, and winch(just added less than 100 miles ago)

After 1300 miles, ~600 highway the rest city, I’m averaging 13.4 MPG! (calculated by the Jeep) One of the main reasons I chose the 2.0 was for the fuel economy but this seems like a 3.6L average. No, I didn’t expect the stickered 22-24 but I did expect it to be in the high teens and maybe over 20 on the highway.

What are you averaging? Thanks!
Getting 20.4 average. Lovin it too. Switched from a Denali that required premium and got 12.8mpg. Rubicon with steel bumpers and a winch which = another person in the vehicle. Lighten up on the high-speed and you may be a happier Jeeper.

24k miles in 9 month of ownership. Averaging 19mpg currently and saw a slight increase when I broke 18k miles. Maybe taking it more easily on the go pedal. But this thing absolutely rips, you really notice or appreciate the extra torque when towing and or going bigger tires from stock. Dropping the oil every 5k miles which is a 15 minute job.

I get 12.0 but I have a 60/80 setup turning 41.5” tires and full steel all around. Very happy with it!
