Just returned from a trip to California including going over many mountain passes from Arizona with the AC on 75% of time. Averaged 22.5 MPH. Speed was speed limit to 5 over, had it on cruise mostly at 75 mies per hour!
22.5 MPG not MPH

I got 21.6 for a couple hundred miles with mostly 55-65 mph. Higher winds and 70+ drops into the 18s and 19s. Around town is around 16-17 fairly consistently. Coming from a world of 11-14 mpg trucks, this is a nice change. Small-ish tank, though.

Realize that FCA mpg calculations are not made the way you think they are. It is not the number of miles driven divided by the gallons of fuel burned. No one seems to know much about the algorithm FCA uses, but it is weighted towards the most recent mpg. I first noticed this on my 2015 Challenger on a long (1200 mile) trip. The trip mileage would change, but not based on how I drove. Checking the fuel receipts with the miles driven showed about 2 mpg less than what the mpg gauge indicated. This is well documented on Cherokee and Rampage forums too.

Bottom line - using the mpg gauge is pretty useless if you want to know your true mpg. Only recording the fuel you bought and dividing that volume into the miles driven will tell you that.

I have a 2018 JLUR, 2.0 with stock suspension and tires, steel bumpers, and winch(just added less than 100 miles ago)

After 1300 miles, ~600 highway the rest city, I’m averaging 13.4 MPG! (calculated by the Jeep) One of the main reasons I chose the 2.0 was for the fuel economy but this seems like a 3.6L average. No, I didn’t expect the stickered 22-24 but I did expect it to be in the high teens and maybe over 20 on the highway.

What are you averaging? Thanks!
I have an ‘18 JL Sport S, stock, 2 door with the 2.0. Over the last 9000 miles I averaged 22 mpg, hand calculated. The trip computer reports a couple mpgs higher. Mix of highway and city driving. It’s fun to drive and sometimes I am pretty heavy on the pedal and the mpg suffers. If I drive it like there is an egg under the pedal I can get 30 mpg on the highway. MPG is significantly reduced over 65 mph ish and if there is a strong headwind. Using 87 octane; tried 87 and 91 and saw no difference.

That's pretty amazing. My stock JK didn't even get that. I'm getting 19-20 city with my stock Rubi and 22-24 highway. 37" Cooper's, 2.5" lift (on a Rubi -- would be 4" on a Sport), and winch are going on next (so I can run some of the harder stuff in Moab). I'm sure I'll drop down to 17-18. I'll probably stick to 91 from now on considering I'll likely be in boost more frequently.

Average still reading around 25 + or -

Hand math still sitting at 22-23. This week was a little more highway driving and more occasions of running the top 1/2 up.

Yeah, it’s impressive. It typically stays between high 16’s & low 18’s. I use 93 & never reset the mpg average. I also have a muffler delete & AFE Dry air filter. The sweet spot is around 65 mph for mpg it seems. I’ll be added motobilt bumpers & swapping out suspension component. I’m fine with anything over 16 mpg untuned tbh.

I drive our 18 2dr JL in Florida about half on the interstate at 70-80 mph, and half in city type driving. I use exclusively 87 octane, have 5000 miles, and I consistently get 24.5-25.5 mpg calculated when refilling the tank. The gauges usually read about 1-1.5 mpg better. Stock everything, cruise control on the interstate, mostly with the soft top up. Ess or whatever Jeep calls the start/stop thing is usually off since it’s almost useless if you are running the a/c.
