I don't own one of these new Jeeps... but as a comparison

My1977 CJ7 AMC 401 with 6-71 blower and FAST EFI was 5 miles per gallon making 600+ HP . Not really hard on throttle.

At 90 MPH it was down to 4 miles per.....

These things aren't mileage machines.... Remember a 2 Liter with be using the fuel of a 4 liter under 10 PSI boost.

I don't know what the boost level is.. but foot in.......gas burn.

I hoped the same but it just keeps going down
Bring it into the dealer and have them check it out. I thought I read about someone else who had a bad 48V battery and it caused poor mpg.

I second the opinion of getting it checked out. My stock Sahara reads 23 average after +3000 miles. I started at 87 and switched to 91 two tanks ago without any noticeable difference on the gas milage. This is all as measured by the jeep. Too lazy to track my actual gas mileage.

My 2 dr Sport with cruise on @ 65 is running 1600-1700 rpm. 22=23 MPG with 32" tires and recalibrated,
With a heavier 4 dr and 4:10 gears I'm guessing you are at or over 2000 rpm at that same speed. Add a heavy foot and a trans that has learned to shift at a higher rpm, and the engine is not broke in yet.........and I would say its feasible to to be in the 13 mpg range. I have been as low as 18 mpg.......if I had 2 more doors and the lower rubicon gears, I'd likely be closer to 14 with a heavy foot.

I'm at 900 miles now and I am averaging 20-21 miles per gallon on a mix of highway and back roads with 91 octane. At first I was getting 14 miles, but as I figured out my sweet spot for my Jeep I try to stay between 65 and 75 mph. Occasionally, I go a little faster but I don't see much variation in the mpg. Hope yours gets better!

3500 miles in 2 month and a daily driver on FL Turnpike around 75 mph and some local backroads

Likely due to flat terrain and lower Rpm at highway speed than a Rubicon.

I have a 2018 JLUR, 2.0 with stock suspension and tires, steel bumpers, and winch(just added less than 100 miles ago)

After 1300 miles, ~600 highway the rest city, I’m averaging 13.4 MPG! (calculated by the Jeep) One of the main reasons I chose the 2.0 was for the fuel economy but this seems like a 3.6L average. No, I didn’t expect the stickered 22-24 but I did expect it to be in the high teens and maybe over 20 on the highway.

What are you averaging? Thanks!
Honestly, I think that sounds a bit suspect. I have the 3.6, and do mostly city driving when the engine is cold. That results in an average of about 16.8 mpg. That said, my mpg will go up when driving 75 on the highway and going up 6000 feet. One thing I have definitely learned though, how you accelerate and decelerate makes a huge difference. If you speed off the line at lights and are the type to stay on the gas all the way to a red light, you're just wasting gas and not saving much time.

Get it checked out. I have a 2019 JL Sport S 2-door with the 4 cyl turbo and have averaged 22-23 mpg over 2600 miles. My driving is a mix of city/highway in NYC so traffic is part of my daily drive. I have a heavy foot when the roads do clear up so I think I can probably get better mileage if I tried. I just put on bigger heavier wheels/tires so it will probably drop to 20-21 but 13 is way too low for a new JL turbo.

Sahara should be significantly better mpg than rubicon.

4.10 years
Inch taller
Wider track width
33” all terrain tires
More fender gap.

Winch won’t help either.

My guess is JLUR stock at 65 flat kroads gets 20 max with the 2.0 babying it.

I bet if you adjust your driving or dial something in you’ll get the mileage you were expecting. These JL’s are amazing.

Depends on a lot of factors and you can't determine what your's will be when comparing to others. The average mpg gauge on the cluster has a plus/minus accuracy. The EPA figures are based on a computer simulation with one Wrangler (the lightest weight model no options) for each motor type. EPA estimates 1% to 2% decrease in mpg for each 100 pounds you add such as fuel, people, bigger tires/wheels, steel bumpers, lifts, roof racks, etc. Differences in temperature, grades, driving habits, speeds/congestion, fuel performance (especially for the turbo) have impact. I'd say if mileage is a factor for you strip it to the bone, only carry anorexic passengers, don't drive over 45 mph, and put on front sloping fairings plus some on the sides and one of those sail fairings you see on the back of semi trailers. Otherwise worry if you get < 1 mpg or > than 27 mpg. If the latter sell it back to Jeep for a fortune so they can figure out how it is getting such good mileage.

I feel so vindicated, I bought a Sahara with a Pentastar 6 cyl. Gets about the same, almost 20 on highway and around 16 in town. Was worried about the gas mileage but now I FEEL better..... I do now some of the previous posts regarding the 60MPH optimal speed, its right on target. Don't drive heavy footed, it will make your wallet CRY!
