My dealer threw the PCM reprogram in for me for free. Actually all three that I was dealing with were willing to do it for free. It doesn't matter much to them...it just plug in and click a couple of buttons and wait. Its not much more difficult than using the diablo tuner on my challenger.

Do you have the signed contract with FCA? Did you sign the contract? Perhaps your dealer did you right... perhaps...

Unfortunately, you are wrong on a few things. With the JL, things are far different then they were, with say, the JK. IF/when the dealer plugs the JL into the computer to do the programming, FCA is now part of the picture.... part of the process.... and FCA wants their $ .. their piece of the pie, from the dealer. It is not like it used to be where it was "lug in and click a couple of buttons and wait.". Maybe your dealer is going to foot the bill but ....

I ordered a Tazer JL yesterday and my new wheels/tires should be here on Friday. I'm looking forward to not having to go to the dealer and throw away money for simple things like calibrations.

First company to successfully disable AutoPark permanently gets a cookie.

C'mon programmers...let's see what you've got.

Superchips has confirmed the flashcal disables autopark - they are running it on both their JLs without any issues or bugs.

I did see where Superchips commented on a FB post yesterday that AutoPark disable DOES work. Obviously I don't own a FlashCal so I can't say for sure, but if Tazer JL doesn't offer this feature soon, I'm probably going to sell my Tazer or return it and give the FlashCal a chance. Or, maybe keep both until one of them successfully turns off AutoPark and then sell the other.

I tow trailers on a somewhat regular basis and having to get in, close the doors, etc. just to back the Jeep up a few inches is driving me insane. What a stupid safety feature.

Please do. I'm very interested. I got my Tazer JL yesterday and like others, I'm a bit perplexed as to why you can't read DTCs or kill AutoPark. Seems like those features are more important than the fancy stuff and should have been worked out first. There's also no instructions in the box, no documentation on how to update firmware, and the website is pretty user unfriendly if you need help also.

I have the Flashcal, and auto park definitely is not disabled even though it is selected off on the programmer. I didn't get it for that however, and as much as I dislike that nanny function for trailering it may have some good virtues (I haven't found them yet). I did get the programmer for selecting tire size, if it does that then I'm good.

Back to programming 101 — regardless of brand which statement below is true. Assume you went in for something like an oil change and they said an update was available. You say ok, go ahead.

The dealer hooks up their computer to your jeep. When they do this a VIN lockout occurs. (True, now the question.)

1 — the VIN lockout is on your tuner which is now useless
2 — the VIN lockout is on your Jeep and you have to convince Jeep to go ahead and update.

I know about return to stock and unmarry. And of course one should do this, but what if one didn’t? My question is what happens if the dealer computer is connected after a tuner change. (Yes, the stock module would have to be plugged in for the dealer to connect.)

Your jeep is programmed with a Tazer or Flashcal and ....
— You are away from home with the programmer at home
— Your programmer has failed (unmarry or stock failed to update)

Asked another way, assume I don’t care if the dealer knows I have a programmer. What happens if they connect? Someone gats a VIN lockout. What next?

@Jeepsk8 I'm sorry you're experiencing an issue here. Our team is aware of some comments here and on social media with similar notes. If you'd like to ping me directly with a PM and include your serial number, I'll look into this promptly. We have 2 of our own JLs and this feature is working and we are not currently taking any widespread calls noting this bug. All that said, I want to make sure you and any others experiencing this issue are taken care of. We go through extensive validation before we bring things to market. I will make sure you have my direct contact info - email, office, and cell phone. We'll get to the bottom of the issue. The same goes for anyone else having this issue. Please DM me.

Thanks
