If you use the TazerJL and leave it in the OBD port, and use the UConnect app, you will not receive all information (from the App) while it is plugged in. The App updates every time the vehicle is started and will not, if the Tazer JL is plugged into the OBD port.
Just for information and may be a problem if your JL is illegally taken and you attempt to use the UConnect to locate it.

Funny, I have had my Tazer JL since May and I always get my Health reports, I get my OTA updates and I am able to locate my JL with the app.

Can tell you others here have also reported just what I said.

In closing, the info you have posted is bogus, incorrect, etc. or possibly you are not seeing what I see.

I should also add that I can ... with the Uconnect app, remotely start the JL, honk the horn, lock or unlock, work horn and lights and as mentioned earlier get a pin point location as to where the JL is.

AND ........ just for the hell of it, I just did a locate and honked the horn.. Was able to do both.... and my Tazer JL is married to the JL and my Tazer JL hardware is installed.

A side note: With the Tazer JL installed, I did receive the OTA update that gave me Off Road Pages.

All entitled to their opinions, but the information is correct on my end. I would not have posted it otherwise. With it installed, I don't receive the current updates.
Just for your information, a rep from Uconnect advised me that the problem has been reported to them on several occasions; guess your an exception.
Enjoy.

Not opinions at all. Fact.

You may be having issues with your Uconnect but that does not mean all others are.

How do you explain away all the facts that I posted. Many other's have posted the same as I.

Enough said............. hope other's reading this thread realize your info is bogus or an issue that pertains to your JL and not the norm lets say.

Comprehend what I posted or have someone explain it to you. I left it as information, that I found to be important to post. Just because you are not affected does not set it as Fact, nor does my post indicate it as a Fact. I know for a Fact that recently a Wrangler was stolen and UConnect could not track it; because something was plugged into the OBD port. I've tried mine with and without the Tazer and my post reflects what happened in my situation.
Too bad it really bothers you that much. LOL

I try my hardest to only post info that is known to be absolutely true/factual. Sure, a couple of times, I may have misspoke but.. but again, I am careful not to post crapola.

It does bother me a bit that you started a thread as you did, making a blanket statement, not based on fact.

Reality is, you would have been better received lets say, if you had come here asking what other's are seeing in regard to this issue. No, you came here and posted info as if it were a given... factual... and it is not.

I hate to see guys/gals coming here and reading stuff... taking stuff as a given, when in reality is the info is tainted.

IF you go back and read / research forum posts, you will see many say they have gotten OTA updates, can locate their JL and such.

Sure some report they have not gotten the OTA Off Road Pages update and have expressed concern that it may be because the have a Tazer JL or Super Chips Flashcal installed.

Again, many have reported their programmer has not blocked Uconnect, etc.. I'm sure there are a handful that think the programmer has blocked updating.

So far though, the majority have posted that programmer attached has not blocked a thing

Lets see what other's post in this thread...

That is exactly the reason for the forum, express our concerns. My experience is a fact as it does happen to me each time. If I can help someone with their Jeep, than so be it. I would hate to hear of a Jeep being stolen and could not be tracked due to what I experience, than think like you and not post it. Like I previously posted, I recently saw that happen.
Contact Uconnect and ask them if it could be a problem, not just with the Tazer, but anything plugged into the OBD port.
Use the information or ignore it.

I did receive my Off Road update with mine plugged in, it's the UConnect app that had the problem.

Strange. My UConnect app work with no problem, including parked location (which implies that it updates in real time).

Do you have good cellular reception in your area?

First world problems. Heh.

You do know that the Uconnect app, the JL radio and ..... all are known to be a tad buggy... to hiccup often.

Consider the issue you are havng, may be with Uconnect and no more.

Of course, Uconnect reps (they are friggin clueless, I might add) are going to say it is something attached ... not their apps fault, etc..

Regardless, I could care about the corny Uconnect app and their locator and such. I for one could care i it worked or did not work. Were I have to chose between the Uconnect app working and the programmer, I'd say be bye Uconnect app.

Again, hopefully other's will post and say if they feel, their programmer is blocking.... maybe in the end this thread will prove to be a useful tool lets say... a tool to get us more info in regard to this issue.

I did try that, several times, different locations. I finally contacted Uconnect, who advised me of the problems they experienced. I went with their advise and found my problem. I'm glad it works with others, but I'm not taking a chance. The recent theft proved to me to be cautious. I'LL plug it in but remove it before leaving it parked.

I don’t have the 8.4 system but I personally would think that plugging in and unplugging the Tazer everytime I parked would be a hassle
