Jeep-JL-Double-bypass-tazer-1.png

First to market, period! Released March 23, 2018.
Similar to the popular Tazer, the Tazer JL is to be an essential tool for owners of the new 2018 Wrangler JL. Boasting a long list of features that no other device on the market can provide.

Simple, plug-in installation – 2 parts: a bypass module plugged in above the OBD2 connector and the Tazer JL itself which plugs into the OBD2 connector.

There are two sets of features – those that program the vehicle to accommodate modifications made to the Jeep (or tweak settings), and the “live” features that run only when the Tazer JL remains plugged in.

These are all accessed using the dash display, using steering wheel buttons to navigate the menus.

Settings – once the Tazer is “married” to the Jeep, the following menus can be accessed. Unmarrying the Tazer JL will bring the settings back to stock.

Perf menu:
Adjust for alternate tire sizes up to 41″
Adjust for alternate axle gear ratios
Adjust for an alternate transfer case LO range ratio

TPMS menu:
Disable TPMS system if desired
Change front/rear TPMS warning PSI limit

Radio menu:
Disable Backup camera
Enable Cargo/front/uncercarriage Camera input
Enable CD audio input
Disable TravelLink (weather warnings included)

Lighting Menu:
Change DRL region (type)
Change DRL location
Disable DRL Dropout
Enable Fog lamp output
Disable Fog lamp dropout
Disable Halo’s
Set LED 3rd brake light type
Set LED tail lamp type
Set LED front turn signal type
Set Trailer Tow output for use with Mopar kit

Other menu:
Disable/Enable Electronic sway bar – for axle swaps or to run disconnected at any speed or drive mode
Disable/Enable Front Axle Disconnect
Disable/Enable Front and Rear Lockers
Enable Aux switch settings on the radio
Enable Blind spot detection (sensors required)
Change cluster splash screen to Wrangler/Sahara/Rubicon

Live features – these run only while the tazer is plugged in:
Light shows (Patented): Can be accessed from the key fob or from the on-screen menu. 6 pre-set light shows and 3 make-your-own shows included. Set from the factory to only operate when parked, but can be unlocked for off-road and emergency personnel use.

Disable Navigation in-motion lockout – enter addresses while the vehicle is moving
Disable camera lockout – use the backup camera and/or added cargo/front/undercarriage camera at any speed for any length of time

Auto Traction Kill – can be set to turn off traction control upon start-up
Auto StopStart Disable – can be set to disable AutoStopStart upon vehicle start-up
0-30 and 0-60 timers
Cooldown mode – run engine fans when Jeep is off, to aid in cooldown
Winch mode – raise engine idle to 2000 RPM while winching or jumping another vehicle

Line Lock - Want to do a crazy burnout in your Jeep? Probably not, but if you did, this function will lock just your front brakes, allowing the rear brakes to remain off for easy burnouts.
Rock Crawl - press 2 buttons on the steering wheel and this will hold all four brakes for you - perfect for rock crawling/off-road with manual transmission Jeeps, or even for starting out on a steep hill. No need for the parking brake or heel-toe in these situations, let your fingers do the braking. Patent Pending.

Clear Check engine light

Free USB updates – certainly more to come!

I think this is wrong:
"Other menu: Disable/Enable Electronic sway bar – for axle swaps or to run disconnected at any speed or drive mode"

I tried disabling the electronic sway bar but all that did was disable my button.

Also, how do you access Cooldown, line lock, winch mode and rock crawl? I don't see these on the live menu.

Put the Jeep in 4wd, press sway bar disconnect, and wait for it to disconnect. Turn the Jeep off then into RUN mode and not running, and go in and set Sway Bar off. Now it’ll stay disconnected no matter what speed or transfer case setting you’re in.

The line lock. rock crawl, winch modes aren’t in a menu. It’s just button combos (all in the user manual).

Got the other features working!

It would be cool if you could add a "disable sway bar speed dropout" feature :)

edit: or call it "Disable swaybar auto reconnect at speed".

Morning Joe!

Posting in this thread as well...Since installing the Tazer, I notice that the following message is displayed for the first minute or so when I start the Jeep and place it in gear.

“Vehicle Not In Park”

Any ideas?

Joe,
Is it possible for you to program the Tazer to change the window buttons to enable the rears to do auto down? And, enable all four to do auto up? And if so, have a plan to do this?

I'll give it a go when I get a chance, but I know from past vehicles (Ram and Charger) That it didnt work.

Joe,

What do we need to get the cargo camera up and working?

You have a kit?

We will have a kit yes. Currently designing a mount for the front grille to hold the camera securely.
Will it be universal (Sport, Rubi, Sahara), or specific to a particular bumper?

It will be grill mounted not bumper. We will have a universal kit also for those who wish to mount the camera elsewhere.

Can't wait to see it! Will it have enough of a view of the ground to help spot, being higher up on the grille? I guess I could just shut up, be patient, and wait and see. But I just can't!! :lipssealed:
