I don't know the previous owner, unfortunately. It was a trade in at a dealer.

It's an Auto transmission, Mickey Thompson 37" tires (measured at 35 3/4"). I'm taking a run in the Jeep in a few and will see about RPM and speed.

The speedometer does seem pretty accurate when comparing it to highway radar signs that flash your MPH.

Thank you! Really appreciate the help!
I'm betting you got 4.88 gears with it. See if it gets into 8th gear. I'd bet with 4.10 gears it would rarely get into 8th, unless downhill or with a stiff tailwind.

I can't imagine why the previous owner would set the Tazer to 4.88 unless he/she put 4.88's in it.

I live out in dairy farm country so not too many flat runs for going 70+

The Jeep speedo read 70mph at approx 2100 RPM in 8th gear. I forgot to use a phone app but last time on the freeway the speedo ran approx 1 mph slow compared to the radar sign, if memory serves me correctly.

Is there a way to use the Tazer to set my parking lights as my DRL?

Anyone with an auto and 37's want to chime in on this? I'm not familiar with the auto's rpms in 8th at 70mph.

Wish I could Dan. I’ve never seen 8th 😂. Still running stock 3.45s with my 37s

I meant 4lo, thanks. I don't want to take away the option, just make it an option. Right now it is not an option, there are just enabled at any speed or transfer case selection. There really is no need for a locker above 15-20 mph, and only reason then is between obstacles when you don't feel like switching it back and forth. I fear that my wife could hit the wrong switch sometime in the winter when she was driving or something could bump against it at a higher speed.
There is absolutely a need for lockers in 4-hi when running sand dunes.

I don't have much experience in the dunes and certainly do not argue that there is not a need for lockers in 4-hi in that situation. However, it would still be nice to have the option to chose to have active all the time or not.

I can't say for certain, but I believe at 70 with 37s and 4.10 gears it is well under 2k rpm (this is CA, we drive 80+ on the freeway). Mathematically at 70 it would be 1750rpm The real reason a lot of you never see 8th gear, you drive too slow. At 85mph it's around 2100 rpm.

Hmm, I drive 70-80mph routinely on my commute and with 35's I'd say 70mph is just around 2k rpms, unless you're basically coasting. Eventually I'll go up to 37's so I guess then I'll know for sure. :)

Not a good idea You will be inviting a window conversation with the law and a citation. Fwiw.

I have 4.88 in my JLUR on STT Maxx 37's and 2100 rpm running 70 in 8Th sounds about right. speed limit around here on the interstate is 75 and I normally run about 2100-2300 RPM. in 8th. With the stock 4.10's I would sit in 6th and I would have to manually shift it into 7th and depending on the wind it would be happy there. If I manually forced it into 8th it would kick it back down to 6th.
