@yellowlab

I tested with Android auto today and found a few glitches in regard to camera on with blinker. If I have maps displaying, (either Google or Waze maps) when I do one touch turn, the camera comes on and then after the 3 tail signal blinks, the radio screen goes to the stock Nav navigation screen and not back to the Google or Waze map display... 8-( Unlike your issue, my sound... music playing via Android auto is not affected at all.

I think there is a glitch, still need to test more.
When CarPlay is on, using maps going to a location, and radio is playing, and screen on maps.

When the nav girl tells me to turn, I hit the blinker(with turncam), all is well. Once turn is over and blinker/turncam shuts off, screen goes back to the map, but radio then has no sound.
Hit the “radio” button on the screen makes the sound come back on, and everything is nomal.

Need to try it with turncam off next...
I turned off TurnCam yesterday :(

I’m on 11.0.6. TurnCam ungrateful exits were just too disruptive/distracting for me.

I use CarPlay for navigation. With TurnCam, the screen was not going back to the CarPlay screen half the time when the turn signal turned off. It became distracting for me, always switching my screen back to CarPlay.

Hopefully it’s more stable in the next release.

One touch is in regard to you touching/tapping the JL's turn signal stalk once and the blinker will blink the turn signal, 3 times and then turn off. The Tazer JL can turn disable this one touch, 3 blink feature. Of course, it can also enable it in the future, if you desire.

Hey Heath ... You made the right choice going with a Tazer JL !
Thank you! I was hoping it was for the windows. I love the ‘easy’ button as we call it for the three blinks. Add that to the rear view camera turning on with it and it’s an awesome feature. Its one the factory should consider. It’s pretty much standard on RVs now.

As @Rhinebeck01 stated if you get the Big Boy Tazer get the OBDII port extender cable, I took @Rhinebeck01 advice and got this cable Diageng OBD-RIB-016-300 16 Pin Ultra Flat Low Profile Male to Female Obd II 2 Extension Cable (30cm/12) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KYH9COE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_Ei0IBb5AMDXKV just get the one from Mobil computer solutions and you can tuck the SGM module bypass and Tazer unit behind the panel and you will never see either one and honestly how often would either have to removed

I also turned off TurnCAM, for me using it with CarPlay and Apple maps it seems to turn off the music for some reason, not all the time but I’m guessing it’s a CarPlay conflict, I found it annoying so just turned it off when using Apple maps for Nav

It would be useful for potential purchasers if they created a table of all the features available in either version of the hardware and whether it was supported in just full version or the lite version.

I just got back from Ireland a couple of hours ago. When I had checked their site while there, I was using a smartphone, so the screen real estate is not that great and a lot of sites just do not handle smaller screens that well or give limited content, but I did not see any table listing the features when I looked around the site while I was in Ireland.

And it doesn't matter if it is here or not. It *should* be on their site and the best way to present it is a table with 3 columns -- "Feature", "Full Version", and "Lite Version" and a checkmark under "Full Version" or "Lite Version" as appropriate with respect to whether that feature is supported in that version. Some might think that all features would be supported in the full version, but in certain situations, it is possible for a feature to be available on the Lite Version and not on the Full Version -- for example, if you had a feature called "Does not require ODB2 port to be constantly tied up with device". Enumerating each and every feature is a lot more straightforward than just having a paragraph that jumbles it all together, especially for potential customers that are not familiar with the product and who are trying to decide whether the features that they loose with the "Lite" version are even features that they care about.

@NavyVet1959 I did up a comparison for you so you don't have to fret..... :giggle:
That's exactly the type of thing that I was talking about. This is what *should* be on their website. Maybe the information was on the website if you knew enough about the product and where to dig to get the information, but it was not in a plain table format that would be useful for potential customers that were not already familiar with the product. This is not a criticism of the product itself, but just the website content and a suggestion for improvement of it.

Curious to know...when you unmarry the Tazer JL Lite for a trip to the dealer for whatever issue or service, will they be able to tell that you are using a programmer? Will their computer read out (if they hook up to OBDII) show anything at all?
I'll tell you all that I know in regard to this. Keep in mind that I am going by what I have been told in multiple conversations with dealership techs, by internet search info, etc. My wording may be flawed but the info below will give you the gist of things lets say.. 8-)

Definition of BCM:
The automotive central body control module (BCM) is a processor-based power distribution center that supervises and controls functions related to the car body such as lights, windows, security, door locks and access control, and various comfort controls.
----------------

The TazerJL, Tazer JL Lite and Flashcal all write to the BCM. Each programmer, does it the same way that the dealership's Chrysler Witech POD Micropod II Tool does.

The BCM uses flash counter's ....There are individual flash counter's for each of the features, etc. that the programmer can say disable, enable, change..

In regard to these counter's... Lets just say, the JL leaving the factory is showing 1 for each counter in regard to the dozen or so configurations.

So, the JL is shipped to the dealership and is sold.

The dealer sells the JL.

Now, the new JL owner installs larger size tires and goes to the dealership service department wanting the speedometer corrected. Dealer takes the JL owner's $100+, and using the Witech tool, programs for the larger tire size and the speedometer is now accurate.

As a result of this tire size programming, the counter that keeps track of the tire circumference value, changes from 1 to 2.

--- So, as you see counter's come into use.

Tidbits:

Apparently, there is no lets call it.... tag, ear mark or identifiable signature, etc., of what was written exactly, and by whom.

All the dealership tech can see with his Witech tool is that the BCM was updated x amount of times... counter(s) changed..

Again, to repeat, from what I have been told by a dealership tech, the dealership's Witech tool, does not show a history or what programmer or what specific dealer, etc. did programming on the JL. All that is available in regard to history, is a flash counter for each configuration.

Also, if your dealer does lets say, a flash update on your JL per recommendation of FCA (say for all 2018 JL's) the counter's change.

With the preceding info in mind, the likeliness of the service department tech, taking the time and effort to dig deep, to ascertain if a counter was changed, what setting it was, and then to look up the vehicle history to see if it was dealer-authorized, is well very time consuming and not something the tech would routinely do. Sure, he could do it, but.. it is not is very likely he will.

I'm not so sure that I like the fact that Jeep is keeping track of how many times each item is getting changed, especially if that count field is pretty large. Let's say that you buy the TazerJL and decide to play around with all the options a bit, trying to see what all you can do with your new little electronic toy for your Jeep (which is just another toy since the older we get, the more expensive our toys become). :) You might end up with hundreds of changes while playing around with it, especially if you were trying to fine tune a gear ratio and tire size to exactly match your GPS indicated speed for a particular tire inflation pressure. Maybe you life up north and have a set of snow tires that you sometimes use when you are going somewhere the roads might not all that clear? Or maybe you are from the South and you have a set of daily driver type tires and another set of heavily lugged mudders that you only use when you are going out in areas where the mud is such that your daily driver tires would not work that great? If the dealership saw that you were changing that field a lot, would they be suspicious?

Well thanks for bringing this to my attention!
I had made a comparison chart - it’s posted on our facebook page but somehow never got uploaded to the site. I’ll have that updated!
Here it is... (a screenshot from the FB page for now)

It really needs to be on your own website. Putting it on FB doesn't count since you don't own the site and have full control of it. Besides, a lot of people either do not have any desire to be on FB or they have had their accounts disabled by the leftist scum that run the site because they made a comment that didn't conform to the leftist agenda of FB and their socialist masters.

I have an issue with something TPMS related and the pressure warning light. I lowered my warning threshold to 15 PSI which worked perfectly. All wheels and tires have been detected and show the correct pressure on the cluster (no red lights either). I now have the tire pressure warning /alert light on just to the left of the display? Everything else functions flawlessly. Any suggestions please! the amber light is annoying to be sure.

Welcome to the club, yes I have the TPMS light on as well but I believe it’s non Tazer related as after my boost and new wheels and tires it came on but pressures were reading but idiot light on, between @TTEChris and I we believe it to be do to the aftermarket sensors so we are addressing that when I get back into town so if you have aftermarket sensors it may be the issue
