I bought a Tazer JL about 3 weeks ago, have not installed it yet. I am very nervous about all the problems I have read about on this forum. My questions is: Those of you who have not had any problems: What is the best installation method? I need to update it first, I know that much but can someone walk me through the best way to install?

Make sure you have the latest firmware. Plug it in. That’s literally all there is to it. There’s no different ways or any finesse or anything like that. The wiring harness will only plug into the Tazer one way. If it plugs in, it’s correct. Have the instructions handy to see how to go through functions and make selections until you get used to it.

If you paid attention to all of the cautionary tales on this forum, you would be hesitant to install floor mats. :)

Yes, that's what I'm talking about! I know, I should just DO IT. I just needed some reassurance.

I’ve had no issues with mine. I agree with @rickinAZ, sometimes the best thing we can do is go into a project with only the info needed to complete the install (aka instructions). It’s an easy and straightforward install. Only one way to plug that sucker in, no way you mess that up. Read the instructions prior to the install and have them handy during the set up.

This is truth. You will injure your hands worse than your Jeep with this install.

One of the few things that actually work perfectly for me.

Or even thinking about buying them
Yeah, its not like it's a small purchase. I just got kind of spooked with the problems I saw AFTER I bought the darn thing......

Ordered mine two days ago and was told it will be delivered today. But of course FedEx is delayed due to Christmas. Guess I will have to wait?

You must be new to Jeeps. Anything that valued in hundreds of dollars and not thousands is a small purchase. ;)

How long after you plug in and marry it, does it take for it to set up? What i mean is does it have glitches at first?

I personally didn’t experience any glitches. I was able to make changes right away.
