So I just installed the factory Rubicon suspension on my 2018 JLU SPORT S. At the same time I installed Teraflex 1/2” load/level spacers. Might be the best $240 I’ve spent. I also have JK Rubicon wheels with 285 BFG KO2’s for now. This is my daily driver with very mild wheeling on the weekends. As I continue this build I’m debating installing JL Rubicon fender flares. Good or bad idea? Here is my Jeep with this setup so far.

For the lift of me, I cannot stop this pics from uploading upside down. My apologies

I have the rubicon flares on my Willys. As others have mentioned the rear bumper will not line up right, and the tires are inside the flares a little bit more. I bought mine with the LEDs and used a Tazer to activate them. (Love the LED's and the DRL's)

Same here on the Bumper. I bought the rubi rear bumper as well and lines right up. Paid 100 bucks for the rear Bumper. Steel.

I bought the front steel and the guy gave me the rear one for the same money. I just put the rear bumper on yesterday. I wouldn't even call that 10# piece of plastic a bumper.

That's why I went with the steel bumper.

Man you guys are great!
First of we need a book of jlwranglerforum one liners! I literally tried for 20 minutes flipping the orientation and everything to no avail. I knew it wouldn’t go without a few laughs! second some solid points about the what else would be required down this Jeep rabbit hole!

@MasterOfPuppetS I think it looks great as is! If you're not planning more lift or larger tires down the road, you're done. If you get the Rubi flares, you'll probably want 35's to fill up the wheel well, and then the rear bumper won't line up so you'll have to swap that, and it just becomes "a Jeep thing". I'm going to do basically the same to my 2-door; I already have the suspension, but now I think I need those spacers before I install everything. ;)

I also like the JK wheels, but I have a question - did you reuse the JL lug nuts? Is the lug seat on the JK wheels the same angle, or did you have to change lugs?
I think the spacer really pushes it over the top for me. Just enough for a daily driver and not to y’all for the wife and kids to get in and out without steps.

I just bought the Jeep and it already had the wheels on it. I like the JL Rubi wheels better but hey these are better than the stock sport wheels in my opinion. So I have no clue about the lug nuts. However the guy I purchased the Rubi suspension from threw in a bag of lug nuts on the box. I am assuming they are his factory lug nuts. I will compare tomorrow and let you know. The bumper thing is news to me so I will kept hat in mind. Maybe I should just buy Rubi bumpers and flares haha!

I have the rubi fenders my sport S and love them. No spacers on the wheels. But they are a -1 offset. 2.5 Evo plush ride springs Bilstein shocks.

Your Jeep looks great! I would like to do a full LED swap with factory LED’s and I figured that Rubi front bumper as well. Waiting to find someone’s takeoffs here in Tennessee.

That would be great if you can check the lug nut situation out. I was planning to buy JL Rubi takeoff wheels/tires, but I like the gray version of those JK Rubicon wheels too. If the cone seat on the JK wheel is the same as the JL it's gonna make my decision that much more difficult LOL.

Okay here goes,
Let me preface this by saying I am no expert on lug nuts. I know they hold the wheel on and come in different sizes and colors. That’s where my knowledge ends. The picture below are as follows. The left lug nut came in the take off parts I received from a 2019 JLUR. I cannot guarantee they are factory mopar lug nuts I am operating from assumption. (We all know where that can lead). The right lug nut came off of my 2018 JLU that has JK Rubicon wheels on it. They do look ever so slightly different. Using a set of digital calipers the best way I could figure out, there are slight differences. See below and let the experts speak about them. Again I have no idea what I’m doing or even if I measure the right parts. I am willing to measure whatever you’d like just let me know.
As I upload pictures from my iPhone, which is the only way I have, No matter what I do, even flipping them upside down to begin with, they upload upside down. For now I am just dealing with it. I apologize but it is what it is.

None of that matters. Cone patterns are the same. The thread pitch is different from the JK to JL. If you are swapping wheels back and forth from JK to JL all you will need to do. Is make sure you use the correct Lug nuts. And in my opinion. Throw those stock pieces of shit nuts in the trash and purchase some solid lug nuts. Or wait until the paper thin faux chrome wrapping causes you a really bad day. Or some shop tech.

1/2x20 for the JK

14mmx1.5 for the JL
