Just curious, I assume that the tailgate keeper, along with the nylon strap, is supposed to keep the tailgate from being damaged by opening too far, correct? Also, if the tailgate opens too far, will this damage the hinges? I would hope that Jeep engineers would design the tailgate to stand up to situations where the tailgate could accidentally fly in certain situations?
